I had the buffet for the first time today. The salad bar had everything you would want out of a salad bar to include potato salad, spaghetti salad, cottage cheese etc. the hot bar carried a good selection of meat and sides. The dessert bar had a few items to choose from, in my opinion it was the only thing that could use a little work but the items available were decent in taste. It's a clean restaurant with fast, friendly staff. I'll definitely be visiting again!

Ordered a T-bone and a stuffed potato with chives.

Waitress had never heard of a T-bone and had no idea what chives were.

We had a room booked for a wedding at the inn. The food was good. The rooms are dated, no coffee pot or hair dryer in the room. The shampoo was in ketchup like packets, but the room was cheap. It was clean, although you could still smell smoke from when they allowed smoking. There was a small cube fridge in the room and the room was spacious. Probably would not stay there for leisure. The furniture was really worn, the finish was peeling off the cabinet.

Stayed here overnite for work assignment. Funky old odor in rooms like sweat. Ate some Fried Fish and Chicken at the buffet they set up for our company...was OK, except the mashed tasted powdery. Didn't go in the bar since I had some beer in a cooler in my room but my co-worker did and seemed to enjoy it.

Decent place to stayed. If stay 3 or more nights you get a discount if you pay for all 3 or more nights. Fridge in the room big no microwave. There is a public microwave in the public corridor. My room was kind of in a sort of disrepair and the chairs in the rooms are not the best.

Had the Mexican buffet on Tuesday night was ok meat was rather dry. And the Mexican food was rather limited.

The hotel staff were fine. for the most part. ( depends on the shift ) rooms were clean not very modern but I liked the whole old motel/hotel thing. the hotel was connected to a restaurant where the staff was absolutely horrid ! they were rude and disrespectful not at first but you could tell that they seemed to like the locals better than the visitors. can you imagine a waitress expressing how she felt about you in front of you yeah same thing I said I ate there and decided not to come back the following night. THE RATING IS A COMBINED SCORE FOR THE INN & RESTAURANT

Nice clean place to stay the weekend. rooms were clean and beds were made properly. the place is kinda dated so it doesnt have modern items in it but it'll do for its purpose. they have a cute outside area with several chairs & tables so u can chill or eat outside (which we did.) we saw some deer in the forest as we were eating too! the breakfast in the morning was pretty good too! it was quite cheap so i was surprised cuz they dont have those prices in chicago! thanks franklin inn!

Best Option in the area. If planning a wedding, work with Franklin Inn for your guests. Avoid the Holiday Inn like the plague.

Not sure why the other reviews on this buffet were positive other than maybe this is the best bad axe has to offer and people have such low standards that this food is acceptable. Bland food and the usual cheap-out options like canned corn, canned beans, & canned gravy - nothing special here. Lasagna & perch were adequate. Didn't try the desserts but they looked pretty low budget. Drinks at the bar were decent and bartender was nice. I wouldn't waste the money on the buffet - if you want cheap food just go to McDonald's and save some money.

Looking for the most unhealthy buffet? Well, you found it! Fried is the key word here. If you still have room after the soggy green beans and mashed potaters and gravy, don't miss the dessert buffet.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the Saturday Night Buffet. The food was very good, it had a wide variety, and the prime rib just absolutely melted! Delicious.
