GateWay Counseling Center's vision is to develop and foster a total therapeutic community in which agencies and organizations freely interact to offer a holistic, family-centered approach to the reduction of negative alcohol and other drug abuse issues.

Through a variety of primary prevention, intervention and treatment strategies, GateWay works with numerous other local and state agencies and organizations in an attempt to reduce and control problems related to those abusing or at risk of abusing alcohol and other drugs.
Services
For some, long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol or drugs may start after their first self-help meeting or with the first time they go to treatment. But, like other chronic illnesses, recovery from addiction requires a life-long commitment to a program of change. For some, relapse back to active use of alcohol or drugs may play a critical role in guiding them toward a rededication to their recovery.
Laurens County Council appoints nine volunteer members to serve on the board of directors. If you are interested in serving as a board member please contact Charlie Stinson, Executive Director or your county council representative. The board meets monthly at 6:00 pm on the 2nd Monday at the agency.
Pregnant women will be given priority for admission to all program components. If we are unable to admit pregnant women to services within 48 hours, interim services will be provided. Interim services will include counseling on the effects of alcohol and drug abuse on the fetus and referral for prenatal care.
GateWay Counseling Center seeks to inform the public and agency stakeholders of our outcome measures. We seek to provide effective and efficient services that meet the needs of our community. We will periodically share sections of data that compares out performance against our performance targets. We seek to continually improve the services that we provide.
GateWay Counseling Center receives state and federal tax dollars that help in paying for some of the services of our clients. However, these funds do not cover all programs or the entire cost of all services. We depend on collecting fees in order to continue to provide quality services to the citizens of Laurens County.
