Services
The Rhoades Insurance Agency in Van Wert began when Paul W. (Dusty) Rhoades left the army after serving in World War II. Dusty began as an understudy of Martin Feigert in the Feigert Insurance Agency shortly after returning from the European Theatre. In 1955, Dusty purchased the Feigert Agency and started the original Rhoades Insurance Agency.
The agency was founded in 1957 by Robert Schmit. It operated for years out of the back of Schmit's Market at the corner of Second and Canal Streets until 1981 when the market closed it's doors. The agency moved to the current location at 126 South Main Street in Delphos which had previously housed the historic office and shop of Marion Township.
