Chung's Taekwondo and Martial Arts USA is without question one of the best martial arts school in Michigan. Master Chung teaches Taekwondo at world-class level and expects the same kind of performance from every one of his students. I studied with Master Chung several years ago before I move to California, and now I am a full-time Taekwondo instructor, as well.
Master Pil-Woong Chung was born and raised in South Korea. He has trained more than 37 years in Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Kuektooki, and has more than 18 years of teaching experience. He is a 6th Dan Master Black Belt in Taekwondo with Kukkiwon certification. He is a vice president in ATU( American Taekwondo United) Michigan and a committee director in ATU.

My first day meeting Mr Chung, he is awesome! I love the respect he commands from the children, always encouraging a " yes sir!" From his students, Something alot of our children lack here in America....respecting adults- I personally have been trying to get my son to say " yes ma'am " for the past 5 years! To hear him saying yes Sir , during his first class tickled me lol. I told him " see, I wasn't wrong." Lol. Anyway my son had a blast, the atmosphere was nice and the other students were so polite and encouraging to other students. Mr Chung gave my son a pop quiz so to speak asking him geography

My child has an endless energy supply with a backup generator; with that, the attention of a goldfish. I was also nervous as she's never been in any kind of formal class setting. Master Chung assured us I didn't need to be nervous that she wasn't ready. It's been 5 months. She has more respect for others and her listening skills are waaaaaayy better. You also don't get the feeling here that your kids are a number. Master Chung knows each student and parent. He shows both parents and students the same respect. He's firm, he doesn't "play" but he let's the kids know they matter to him/ he cares.

Chung’s Taekwondo is an outstanding choice for young children. Master Chung instills technique and confidence. His studio is also very clean, he has the students use hand sanitizer and takes all necessary precautions. It is a very safe activity and Any parent can feel very comfortable sending their child to Chung’s Taekwondo.

I recently joined Master Chung's kickboxing class and love it! Master Chung is kind and a wonderful teacher. He also pushes you in a positive way to do your best and try new things. He has been very innovative with online and in-person classes and ways to still workout despite the pandemic. He really wants each student to succeed and is a positive role model for kids and adults. I am very glad I joined!

I have studied under Master Chung for about five years. In addition to Taekwondo, students will learn discipline, respect, and the Tenants of Taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit. Master Chung takes the time to get to know each of his students individually and offer them guidance on the sport, as well as advice for life. The workouts during the class are tough, but bring great results. The students and instructors in all of the classes form an incredible, positive, supportive community. Overall, training at Chung's Taekwondo is a wonderful experience
