Went to Kobe's to enjoy a nice birthday dinner with my nephew. The grill wasn't clean properly and when we mentioned to the chef he seemed to get upset he was slinging food on my 13 year old daughter, and on everyone else. When he cracked the eggs in stuck his thumb 👍 in every egg 🥚 😳( no gloves were worn). The manager came and tried to defend his behavior but at that point his father spoke up and said this is unacceptable. We proceeded to leave. Terrible experience.

Always a good time coming here. The little lady at the front is always so friendly and inviting. We have gotten the same Hibachi Chef the last three times. I would give five stars but our veggies and chicken stayed in the grill a little too long again. Got the Fire Cracker Shrimp. Nothing to exciting there. The little man loved the crispy noodles that come with though. We always enjoy the fresh sushi rolls. Pictured below are the Las Vegas Roll, Volcano Roll, Dynamite Roll and the Roll Tide Roll. For only being 7 our little man loves Sushi!

Absolutely EXCELLENT! We loved the Asian lady that greeted us and seated us, and all of the food was perfectly delicious. The table chef was very entertaining and friendly. The nigiri sushi sampler was as good as I've had anywhere...even in Japan! Fish was really fresh. Our table enjoyed sushi rolls, steak, chicken, shrimp, and salmon entrees...all excellent. We also enjoyed the fried rice, noodles, and vegetables. We don't understand the negative reviews. We enjoyed everything. The only comment we might make is that maybe they give you too much food...since we couldn't

We are new to the area bringing our daughter to school. This was the most absolute fantastic hibachi place we have ever been to and we have been to many! The service was incredible and fast and the owner was so gracious to check on every table the entire time. The food was incredible. We will be a frequent flyer here!

The greeter had a little bit of a attitude and she never looked at us or really acknowledged us she was too busy playing with the cash register good night. However the atmosphere is the typical Hibachi Steakhouse and the Chef was pleasant and did a good job as did the server but nothing special because it tastes like every other Hibachi Steakhouse in the country.

This is an amazing upper scale restaurant that has an awesome staff. They know there dishes and product they serve and can help make the best choice for your dinning experience. Food is awesome all the way around. The staff is very nice, friendly, and very attentive to the customer's needs. This is a great place to go for a date, adult birthday, or anniversary. There a no children's menu which is not a bad thing in my book.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! This is a hibachi style restaurant, but they do offer regular dining without hibachi. The food is always amazing and cooked to perfection. When I go, I usually order the chicken and shrimp and it comes with fried rice, vegetables, and noodles. Their sushi is really good too! They also follow all COVID-19 guidelines. Upon entering they check your temperature and give you hand sanitizer. They also make sure to sit everyone 6 feet apart and wear masks properly. Their staff is always friendly as well. I highly recommend!

I've been coming to kobe frequently since 2013. Many chefs have come and gone over the years but the food and service is always top notch. "Chef Young" is the best I've seen in my literally hundreds of times dining there, and dozens of other hibachi restaurants. Ignore bad reviews, people have unreasonable expectations then bash restaurants on google...Kobe's low google rating doesn't represent its incredible flavor.

My daughter and I had our Wednesday lunch date here.when we arrived there was only one party sitting at one of the grills.we were seated immediately upon arriving this was good.we had our orders taken and they brought out the drinks in good time.after this it was just a waiting game
I became a lil sleepy and it wasn't just the wait.it was the music in the background the boring decor,and the emptiness.after about 15 minutes a lady and her young daughter were seated with us im thinking maybe now the chef would come out.I was so wrong another 25 minutes passed before he came to serve us.things

Not too long ago I went here to place a to-go order at the restaurant. I'd always had good experiences with the Kobe in Gadsden, but the service here was unfortunately not the best here. It took The to-go hostess about five minutes to acknowledge my roommate and I's presence, and when she did she asked us, "do you like, need something?" in an irritated tone. When my roommate asked if she could do double soup instead of soup and salad, she said they only do soup or salad. It didn't state this on the menu, but we accepted it and both ordered soup with our entrees. She got

Tasty Japanese restaurant! Menu has a lot of great options- not just sushi and hibachi! They have two separate dining areas- one in the back with hibachi grills and one in the front where the sushi bar is. The portions are HUGE! You get so much! The meals classified as entrees also come with both miso soup and salad. I would classify this as a $$$ restaurant though, the sushi is east-coast priced.

I ordered the bagel roll that has smoked salmon, cream cheese, and avocado and there was far more avocado and cream cheese then there was smoke salmon. Actually, I could barely taste the smoke salmon at all. I also ordered the smoked salmon Nigiri and got "not" smoked salmon. And the wasabi was a flavorless dab of mushy green stuff. There was no flavor to it and that is saying a lot coming from a person that can barely take a good dowsing of black pepper.
The hostess was also incredibly rude to whoever she was talking to on the phone

My family & I had eaten at this restaurant in Birmingham and it was Great, in Tuscaloosa the service was horrible, the food was terrible & and we're not gonna even mention the horrible cooking presentation..... If I could give this no stars I would.... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME EATING THERE!!!!!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED

Kobe is one of the only restaurants in town that offers my favorite sushi entree, chirashi. The fish is decent quality--however, the tuna is usually not great--but the knife cuts are horrendous. I'm usually not that picky about my sushi being perfect-looking as long as the fish is fresh, but I've noticed on several occasions that the sashimi looks like it's been shredded on the sides. It's pretty hideous.
