Equity in Architecture South Carolina is a new committee of AIASC that exists to promote and support equity and inclusion as the path to a diverse profession of architecture that improves lives and serves communities.
The Resilience and Disaster Assistance Committee was created in 2012 after the Architects & Engineers Volunteer Act was signed into law. The committee convened to establish a statewide network of architects trained in performing rapid building safety assessments following a disaster.
Since its establishment in 2012, the AIA SC Resilience Committee has expanded its mission, promoting a multi-disciplinary, systems-based design approach to addressing the social, economic, and environmental hurdles to achieving sustainable, resilient, and adaptable communities.

AIA South Carolina has six chapters with over 900 architects throughout the state raising the standards of architectural practice and education, and advocating for the profession. Advocating for our members goes beyond lobbying at the State House. It includes providing the benefits our members need to grow their businesses and manage their careers.
The community of AIASC Members includes AIA architects, associates, design firm professionals, allied members working in design and building industries, and other allied members who share professional relationships with architects. We regularly recognize proven leaders in organization and community involvement, advocacy, and industry knowledge.
