At age seven, Allyson Wells Podell asked her parents to build her a garden. They created a small plot in their backyard where they taught her how to plant and grow flowers and vegetables. Little did they know that they were sparking the passion that would eventually become Willow and Star Flowers. Fast forward 25 years.
After nearly a decade teaching high school English, Allyson decided to leave education and pursue her love of growing and arranging flowers. Willow and Star Flowers-- named after Allyson's parents, William and Suzanne Star-- aims to uplift and connect people through the beauty of flowers and make locally, sustainably grown flowers more easily accessible to the community.

Join us for a flower design workshop. As we design, we will discuss tips for flower care, helpful tools for design, how to choose ingredients, and design techniques. In this hands-on course, you will learn to design a seasonal centerpiece using fresh flowers. You will walk away with a beautiful Thanksgiving arrangement and new knowledge of floristry.

Still in awe of the beauty that Willow and Star pulled together as my wedding florist. Walking into my wedding venue truly brought the entire vision to life and such a special moment! Allyson was so great to work with from planning calls to day-of delivery. So special to have local flowers incorporated and bouquets/boutonnieres wrapped with extra bridal/bridesmaid dress fabric. Beautiful and unique arrangements all around. Could not recommend enough!!!

I don’t know where to start!! I have ordered and received flowers from Allyson & they are always more than perfect. She responds quickly, is super friendly & has an amazing eye for the most beautiful flowers! I… have found that her flowers are more unique, look amazing & last so much longer. I will always order from her going forward. Stop buying flowers from those random online flower companies & shop local!! You’ll be so glad that you did! Oh and she adds a card that lists all of the flowers in your arrangement. I love this as I often find myself curious as

Allyson is the sweetest person ever! She even offered to help us setup our decorations the day of! We met on a couple occasions to work on our wedding inspirations and exchanged communication throughout a 6 month planning process. She always came with a smile and an adorable bouquet! The wildflower centerpieces and eucalyptus garland were a huge hit that all the guests quickly grabbed all the flowers at the end of the night. We know where we’ll be getting flowers for future events!
