Welcome to Abbott Family Dentistry, LLC, the office of Robert P. Pierson, DDS. With over 27 years of experience, Dr. Pierson has been a respected family dentist providing care in Alaska for over 24 years, the first 6 years in the Alaska Bush and now in Anchorage. Our practices' top priority is to provide you with the highest quality personalized dental care with exceptional service in a comfortable, friendly, and relaxing environment.
If you are not scheduled, please call before coming in. If we have unscheduled appointments, we have been know to close the office and enjoy a beautiful day. We ask that you call rather than e-mail for cancellations or schedule changes. For new patients, please call if possible and view our patient forms.

Bleaching the teeth is a process in which you use a gel, either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide to lighten the tooth. Hydrogen peroxide is a quicker and less sensitive chemistry. In-office bleaching is in the short run more expensive but in the long run often less expensive.

The dental exam is the most important part of your dental experience. The goal of the exam is to evaluate for both hard and soft tissue disease of the oral cavity. Without a proper exam, the path to a healthy dentition and mouth is impossible. We use digital x-rays, surgical telescopes, transillumination lights, laser cavity detection, and fluorescent cavity detection when doing your exam.

My Fiancé and I both use Abbot Family Dentistry and Dr. Pierson. She actually convinced me to give them a try.
After some really poor experiences with other dentists in my teens I avoided them like the plague. That choice comes with consequences. During my first visit he found 3 cracked teeth, showed me pictures of each and developed a treatment plan.
There's 2 reasons I'd recommend Abbot Dentistry.
1. He's remarkably skilled at walking you through what he's doing so there's no surprises. This is huge if (like me) you're anxious about going to the dentist.
2. He really is incredibly gifted

My son needed wisdom teeth extraction, but we needed to find a new dentist. Dr. Pierson's office is in our neighborhood so I stopped by. I was greeted by his friendly staff was able to speak briefly with Dr. Pierson. I was very impressed with his manner and his knowledge and experience. He was sincere and genuine, confident but also comforting. I knew that my son would be given individualized care and respect. I made the appointment! My son had an outstanding experience. He was relaxed and comfortable thanks to Dr. Pierson's manner and approach. Our family has found a new dentist that is deserving
