Services
We are happy to provide evening appointments for our patients. Due to their popularity and so that we may serve everyone fairly, we have developed a special policy, and we ask for your cooperation with this. For patients requiring multiple appointments, we ask that one daytime appointment be scheduled for every two evening appointments.
Your first contact with our office will be with a member of our administrative team. They are eager to make your experience a pleasant one and to assist you with scheduling the necessary appointments for your care plan. We will create a financial plan if necessary that works with your budget, including the option of Care Credit.
Dr. Sean Nichols loves the dental practice he has helped to build here in Derry, NH. A dental office that is family oriented, supportive of the community, and available to everyone. He enjoys coming to an office where the atmosphere is fun, compassionate, and caring. Dr. Nichols holds a degree from Providence College and Georgetown University School of Dentistry.
As a new patient, we will spend as much time as needed to learn about you. We will give you a tour of our office; you will see our technology and sterilization center. We will review your medical record, dental history and any questions and concerns. Your initial exam will include digital radiographs, intra-oral photographs, periodontal charting, restorative charting as well as an oral cancer screening.
We pride ourselves in the ability to treat all aspects of oral care right here in our office. Too often in today's health care system, patients are continually referred to different locations for different procedures. The fact that our group of five dentists and two specialists are all available in one location is unique and we believe in line with our philosophy of total comprehensive care for your entire family.

Enjoyed Felecia for the first time - WOW! She is so thorough and proactive. When Dr. Nichols came in for his review, Felecia had 4-5 points that she brought up that she wanted him to check out. She is interesting, friendly, skilled and positive and upbeat. A pure delight on a Monday morning dentist visit. I enthusiastically recommend her!

Since 2008 doctor D Hersey has been our family dentist for me and my wife. I have found him and the staff to be a great group dentistry professionals. So much so that now that I have retired and moved almost 200 miles north I continue to drive down for all my cleaning and dentistry services. Lydia was perfect in every way. She made sure I was comfortable and then proceeded to take the necessary X-ray's and then cleaned my teeth. Dr Kyle checked my teeth and immediately noticed a small cavity and made an appointment to take care of it. I believe he is an excellent addition to the practice.

I have been a patient at ANHB for 20+ years. The hygienists and doctors have always been excellent in cleaning my teeth and keeping them healthy. My last appointment was during the height of COVID-19 and the people in the office were great while walking me through the extensive COVID regulations/protocols. I highly recommend the practice if you are looking for a dental practice.

I've been a patient of Ahern & Nichols Family Dentistry for over thirty years and have only good things to say about this dental practice. The entire staff here is friendly, caring, competent and professional--from the people who answer the phones to the dentists, themselves. The office, itself, is modern, well-equipped and always clean. I really can not think of one instance over the last 30+ years when I was less than 100% satisfied with the care that my family and I received here. (And I do not easily bestow such praise!) In short, one would be well-served to call Ahern & Nichols their family

I hardly knew I was at the dentist. Dawn was so fun to talk with and very clear about any issues she saw in my mouth but did it in a way that was interesting and informative and not judgmental. She was efficient and professional. Funny that I had never met her in all the years she has worked there and the years I have been a patient of the dentistry.

I hated going to the dentist, until I found Ahern, Nichols, Ahern & Hersey. More specifically, until I started seeing Marie for my hygiene visits. She listened to my concerns and we developed a treatment plan that keeps my teeth healthy. I haven't had any issues since beginning treatment at this office about 10 years ago. I've since moved out of Derry and no longer work in town either, but I will keep making the trip to this office as long as they are in operation. I recommend them to anyone who will listen! Visit this office. You won't regret it.

Over the last several years, I have had the chance to be seen by most of the dentists and hygienists on staff, and have found them all to be professional and friendly. I have also appreciated their balanced and practical approach to advanced dental care. This is in stark contrast to previous dentists I have seen, who have pushed crowns and orthodontia that likely wasn't necessarily.

30 years ago I relocated here and asked a coworker for a referral to a dentist. Although she wasn't a patient of this practice, she had sold supplies to them and stated they were professional and well run.
In all these years, I have never been disappointed. My daughter has been a patient since she was a baby and with all the preventive care she has perfect teeth at age 21. I've needed a lot of work, unfortunately, and Dr. John J Ahern has taken excellent care of me every time. He is warm and caring. They have a full staff of hygienists as well as dentists, and refer for dental surgery
