Services
The mission of Owlett & Lewis is to provide timely, efficient, thorough, and excellent legal services that are in line with your needs and accomplish your goals. The legal process is complex and can be very confusing. At Owlett & Lewis our goal is to "demystify" the law and help you to understand your rights and options so that we can better guide you to make the best decisions for your situation.
Estate Administration: We use technology to efficiently administer estates in a timely manner. Our fees for estate administration are competitive and are not based upon the size of the estate. Estate Planning: We prepare Wills and Trusts to maximize testamentary desires while minimizing estate administration and federal and state death taxes.
Business and Corporate Law: We counsel our clients on the appropriate business structure (sole proprietorship, corporation, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company, nonprofit), tax ramifications, corporate tax and other federal, state, and local filings and compliance measures, qualifications in other states, and business name.
Medicaid Planning: We counsel clients at both the pre-planning and Medicaid Application stages. At the pre-planning stage, we advise clients on gifting and alternative ways to pay for nursing home care, including long-term care insurance. At the Application stage, we advise clients on how to obtain financial assistance for the quality care needed, yet preserve assets for the at-home spouse.
A Power of Attorney is a written document in which you appoint someone (an agent) to act on your behalf and manage your affairs. You can have two (2) separate and distinct Powers of Attorney, one specifically for your financial matters (Financial Power of Attorney) and one specifically for your medical matters (Health Care Power of Attorney).
