Diane Jones, Licensed Acupuncturist, has been using acupuncture to promote overall health and wellness for 25 years. In 2005, Diane founded The Acupuncture and Wellness Center. Acupuncture is one of the oldest continuously practiced medical systems in the world.
For several thousand years, it has been part of a constantly evolving and cohesive health care system, a system that includes not only acupuncture, but also herbs, proper nutrition, exercise, meditation and therapeutic massage.Acupuncture itself involves several modalities, most famously the insertion of hair-thin needles along meridian pathways to promote the body's incredible self-healing abilities.

Thousands of years ago, East Asian practitioners discovered that the body develops disharmonies as a result of the various physical and mental stresses of life. No matter which Chinese medical modality is being used (acupuncture, herbs, nutrition, qi gong, etc.), all are based on the same fundamental theories.
Chinese herbs are often used in conjunction with acupuncture for added therapeutic effect. While many cultures have herbal medicine traditions, the sophistication of Chinese herbal medicine is unsurpassed. Chinese herbal medicine has a long history reaching back several thousand years, and the resulting system is now used to treat everything from the common cold to certain types of cancer.
Moxibustion is so old that it predates the use of needles for acupuncture. It has been found in tombs that are 5,000 years old. Moxa, a word derived from the Japanese term "mogusa", is a wool-like plant material made from dried and rubbed mugwort leaves. In this photograph, you see moxa that has been wrapped around the metal handle of an acupuncture needle.
Combine the cumin, coriander, turmeric and salt together and gently saute with 1 tbs ghee. Note: The more ill the person, the more water and cooking time is necessary, as well as serving it at thick, warm, soupy consistency. Kitcharee is a staple of Ayruvedic health care. It balances all doshas and assists the body to overcome all diseases.
With his ageless axiom "Let your food be your medicine and your medicine, your food, " Hippocrates, regarded as 'the father of medicine" might as well be referring to kichari. This delicious mainstay of Indian cuisine consists of split yellow mung beans called dahl, and white basmati rice cooked together with ghee (clarified butter) and mild spices.

Diane is honest, caring and a true professional. She is very skilled and passionate about her work. She takes the time to truly listen to your concerns. Diane was great about offering recommendations and referrals where needed. Her main concern is for you to be well. I look forward to my next visit. I felt great when I left her office -a clear difference from when I walked in.

Diane has been treating my wife for a few years and I must say that she is a miracle worker. She has a gentle, humble bedside manner, and she is a master at what she does. My wife is chronically ill and suffers from several debilitating conditions. Whenever she needs help, Diane is there, often fitting her in at the last minute while double-booking herself. My wife walks out of her practice like a different person. It truly warms my soul to see the relief that Diane is able to provide for her. Words cannot explain how grateful my wife and I for having Diane as our acupuncturist. Do yourself a favor

Diane's new community acupuncture set up is lovely. There are only 4 chairs so you still feel like you are getting all the attention you need from her while experiencing her gifted talents. If you have something more serious going on, you still have the option of a private session which I would also recommend for your first session with her so that she can advise you on getting the most out of your treatment.
Diane is a truly gifted acupuncturist and healer. I am lucky to have found her!

Diane Jones is a wonderful human being and a devoted caregiver. She is a skilled and patient listener who is able to distill symptoms and complaints to methods of treatment that really help. I trust her implicitly and I am enjoying health improvements that I was not able to realize under anyone else's care. I cannot adequately articulate my gratitude for all that Diane has done for me, and for all she is for so many people. She has a heart of gold...
