Limon Dance
Jos Limn's work has been a force around the world for 75 years. He built a dance company after WWII. He created hope when there was none, he created art that speaks to generation after generation. It is our responsibility to carry that message of hope and community forward with risk and artistry. Join virtually for beginner and pro classes with current and former Limn Dance Company members.

A heartfelt thank you to all the people that tuned in to see our virtual Season at The Joyce Theater. Your support enables us to perpetuate Jos Limn's legacy. The tour begins at Shakespeare & Company in the beautiful surroundings of the Berkshires where award winning choreographer and musician Olivier Tarpaga will be creating a new piece for the Company.
The Jos Limn Dance Foundation exists to perpetuate the Limn legacy and its humanistic approach to movement and theater, and to extend the vitality of that vision into the future, through performance, creation, preservation and education. The Jos Limn Dance Foundation supports two entities: the Limn Dance Company, this country's first modern dance repertory company, and the Limn Institute, an educational and archival resource center.
A widely respected former member of the Limon Dance Company for more than a decade, Puleio was appointed only the sixth Artistic Director in the Company's 75-year history, a position that originated with Doris Humphrey. After a diverse performing career with the Limon Dance Company, touring national and international musical theatre productions, television and film, he received his MFA from University of California, Irvine.
Geared to develop the dancer's artistic voice, Limn Summer Intensives offer a rigorous program in technique, classic & contemporary repertory, and a unique opportunity to train with Limn's Artistic Director, Dante Puleio and the Company dancers. Being immersed in Limn technique and spending two weeks with faculty that encouraged, supported, and challenged me was something that I haven't had at any other intensive.
Following CDC Guidelines, we will be social-distancing in class. Masks are strongly encouraged for all participants, and will be at the discretion of our teacher's comfortability. Please bring your mask to class! I started doing this last year, it is something I have looked forward to all year long.
