Dr. Shannon was raised in Sykesville, Maryland where she grew up playing sports with her 2 sisters (Taylor and Erin) at a very young age. Through her own experience with physical therapy after a knee injury in High School, she became interested in different types of sports rehabilitation. In 2014 she graduated from Frostburg State University with her Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science.
Hometown Chiropractic uses multiple technique approaches. We understand that every patient is different, and that every spine needs an individualized care plan to best meet their needs! Every cell, organ, and tissue in the human body is powered and controlled by the nervous system. Since your spine protects it, wouldn't you find it ideal to keep it aligned and healthy from chiropractic care?
Here is some helpful information for you to better understand what your insurance coverage can do for you:. All patients are responsible to know their insurance benefits such as deductible, co-pays, and maximum visits allowed. Consult your employer or subscriber services for more information. The insurance company will tell you that an explanation of benefits is not a guarantee that they will cover your care.
We respectfully ask that you provide our office with a 24-hour notice of any schedule changes or cancellation requests. Lack of providing adequate notice of your cancelled or missed appointment prevents our massage therapists from filling that appointment time. For this reason, you will be charged 50% of the service fee.

Dr Shannon is maybe the 5th or 6th chiropractor I have been to in 20 years. I feel lucky to have found her now. After X-rays, she explained to me thoroughly about what was going on with my spine and she discovered problems with my pelvis, which I didn’t know about either. She helped me discover that I had sprained my pelvis. She also showed me the hairline fractures in my spine that I already knew about.
Every week, before adjustments, she checks in with me to make sure I’m not in any pain from the week before, or from the adjustment going back out of place. She’s thorough with her adjustments

I came to Dr. Shannon for sciatic nerve pain and this annoying chronic tightness in both shoulder blades. I would always rely on doing yoga for my back pain but ever since giving birth, it wasn’t working anymore. Dr. Shannon obviously adjusted me but also gave me things to try doing at home to help my back. I have been following through and can honestly say my back hasn’t felt this great in a very long time!! I don’t have any pain anymore and I don’t wake up with pain either!! #gamechanger!!

After trying multiple chiropractors through the years, I'm so happy that I found Dr. Shannon! The fact that she explains why she is doing what she does helps you to understand the importance of the adjustment and how it affects your body. She's very compassionate and perfect to care for people of all ages. I trust her with adjusting my 9 yr old and she does so with great communication while maintaining that professionalism between my child and myself. I can't say enough great things about her. If you have had troubles in the past with chiropractors or just been nervous about going to a chiropractor
