I stayed here for a wedding this past weekend. Everything was wonderful from the time we checked in. The employees were super nice and helpful, especially the two ladies at the front desk. The room was… spacious, clean and updated. The hotel itself was nicely decorated. You can tell it has been well taken care of. The wedding was in a heated tent behind the hotel and we had access to the cozy outdoor patio area. Appetizers, dinner and snacks at the after party were delicious. The hotel is not serving breakfast on weekdays due to a staffing shortage but they directed us to some area diners

I had my wedding at the Colonial Hotel on 9/18/21 and my experience there was absolutely amazing. Mary and Kailee were always incredibly responsive- they answered my million questions/emails right away and are always friendly, very easily accessible by phone as well. We postponed our 2020 wedding to 2021. They even refunded us our deposit for the rehearsal dinner. We did lose our initial deposit for the reception, but we did not push too hard on that as we understood the circumstances. We even asked to retaste some of the passed hor d'oeuvres when it became closer to our wedding date, because

Over the weekend we had the most perfect wedding at The Colonial Hotel! It truly was a fairy tale to say the least! Everything about the Colonial was amazing from the staff at the check in, the huge bridal suit to all the events held at the pub and so much more. We were blessed with a beautiful day and the ceremony site outside at the gazebo was… perfect and arranged exactly as we wanted. We were supposed to get married 05/16/2020 but like many others, Covid ruined that. Mary WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did we change our date once, but two other times and every single time Mary was the… easiest to work with. She was to calming and she is such a great person that made it much easier. July 10, 2021, my wedding day...This day was supposed to be the most amazing day of my life! It should have been flawless and positive! But that was NOT the case. There where many things that went amazing due to Mary Whitman and Kailee Moorshead (the head of wedding coordinating), and they made my ceremony and reception a dream come true. Do NOT book your wedding here. You will regret it like we did. This place only cares about money. They do not care about you or your special day. They will truly say anything to get you to sign the contract and make deposits. After that they don't care. We were shocked at how uncaring and unaccommodating they were with the global pandemic.
It is sad that we had that much of a horrible experience with the owner and wedding sales woman, that we walked away from 5,000 dollars which is hard to do.

Poor wedding venue choice. Business practices lack integrity. A wedding booked, signed contract & thousands of dollars put down for a wedding for up to 300 people (125 minimum)- now they won't allow more than 25 people, but no refund. They want to charge thousands for a wedding for 25 people?? The management has the power to make this right. If they aren't willing they don't deserve business.

I had the fisherman's catch $24 - TERRIBLE! could NOT eat it. How can you wreck deep fried food? Batter was AWFUL. Filet of fired fish reeked fishy & tasted more like catfish that was cooked WRONG. Wife had shrimp scampi $20 some dollars & was also very dissatisfied. VERY inconsistent cuisine - super rip off! I'm NOT kidding, Fast food would've been better & cost FAR less. almost $70 for TERRIBLE food

Good God, if this is the "nicest" hotel in the area, I feel bad. The service is so slow and the people who work behind the desk barely acknowledge your existence.i walked in at check-in and there were two people on the computer. Not even a hello, hi, welcome... nothing! My friend eventually piped up and said "Hello!?! How long was it going to take for you to see us standing here?"

I have been going to Colonial Hotel for years since 2015 even having family from Chicago stay there.
Always for most part enjoying my stays.
Unfortunately, the most recent visit I was welcomed to a very dirty bath tub which I informed Holly of who works at Colonial Hotel . No bad reviews, just wanted to let hotel know for future reference.
Then later that evening after check out, my nice feelings towards Colonial Hotel drastically changed after being accused of taking items from room ( a decorative pillow and a blanket) and without a phone call or any type communication, my bank account was charged

I called to book here and requested second floor with best view for our time. We got the first floor in front of the dumpster. I politely explained what was promised and was revengfully moved to second floor under the drive through roof. Our view was entry way roof
Our financial records and restaurant bills were share with third parties WITHOUT a warrant that compromised my privacy.
THIS PLACE SUCKS

Room itself seemed pretty clean. Disgusting stuff on walls in bathroom. See pics. No fridge in room. A lot of noise from hallway. Most importantly, people seem to hang out partying in their cars in the alley behind the hotel. I was here a Sunday night and someone blared their car music right outside my 1st floor window for hours! Definitely didn't feel very comfortable or safe here :/

The hotel looks old and dilapidated upon first impression. The hotel was built in the 80's. Not well built. The floors creak no matter where and how you step.
It is a pot smokers heaven. I thought I smelled pot smoke in my room, and went out in the hallway and was almost knocked down. I smelled smoke pungently in the hall way, contacted the front desk, nothing was done. You are not allowed to smoke in the rooms, but pot smoke is OK.
You are also not allowed to bring alcohol from the outside, to your room. You can bring a bag of weed and smoke all you want.
