Services
Our firm originally began as Milligan & Waltman, CPAs in 1983 when Danford D. Milligan, CPA and Douglas A. Waltman, CPA joined. It has changed several times over the years, bringing in new partners and using those opportunities to learn and become better as a firm. Doug Waltman was a founding member of the firm in 1983 bringing 8 years of experience in public accounting.
Our firm is a strong believer in allowing businesses to focus on what they know best, the business. Often times small business owners try to do it all and it really takes away from the operation of the business and prohibits them from growing at the pace they would like. It can also lead to compliance issues, penalties, and interest if you are not familiar with your business accounting requirements.
Businesses today are seeing more and more requests for financial data from suppliers, lenders, creditors, grantors, bonding companies, state qualifications, among others. We also suggest at the very least having financial statements on a quarterly (or monthly) basis to help see how the business is operating so you can make management decisions and help assist in cash flow planning.
Whether you are starting a new business, purchasing or selling one, or are looking to transition your family business to the next generation, our firm can help you through the difficult process and even more difficult decisions. We sit down with our clients to discuss the type of business they are starting, what the long-term aspirations and goals of the new business are, to determine what entity type best fits the new company.
The oil and gas business is booming in Ohio. There are not enough hours in the day to get the work done, let along to worry about all of the backroom accounting functions. Our firm is experienced in oil and gas processing from invoicing and revenue distribution to severance tax and the annual county reports on well values.
