We keep our class sizes small, because we know everyone learns differently and at a different pace. We are a certified and licensed Charter school with the International Combat Hapkido Federation. We specialize in hand to hand close quarters combat, with a variety of strikes, joint locks, kicks, ground defenses, and the use of defensive weapons, and weapons disarming.
The system that we teach is designed so that you don't need a great deal of physical strength, or athletic ability to defend yourself. It's based on skill, using leverage and the attacker's own energy against them. We want our students to feel capable of accessing potential personal threats and to defend themselves from a variety of situations.

As with most Martial Arts, the history of Hapkido, is shrouded in mystery and controversy. Lack of original records, hearsay, anecdotes, politics, egos and the ravages of time all but ensure sketchy and biased accounts of the origin of this Martial Art.
Over the past 2000 years the Korean people have developed several fighting systems and martial disciplines which have evolved into modem Tae Kwon Do, Tang Soo Do, Hapkido, Kook Sool, Hwa Rang Do, etc.Hundreds of years of trade, war, occupation and exchange between Korea and its neighbors, China and Japan, have resulted in "cross-pollination", mutual influence and blending of styles and techniques.

Self - defense includes basic and obvious principles such as awareness, prevention and avoidance. These preventatives have been taught and discussed at length by many personal - protection experts, security and law - enforcement agencies, and even the media for as long as crime has been a concern of society.
Combat Hapkido is an extremely realistic and versatile discipline of self-protection that includes an extensive variety of joint locks, kicks, strikes, take downs, pressure points, ground survival, disarming techniques and the use of selected weapons. The result is a comprehensive Self Defense system enjoyable to learn, safe to practice and, most of all, totally effective.
Here at Force Options it's not just about teaching defensive techniques, but also about awareness. Teaching your child how to identify dangerous situations and how to avoid them, and the best action to take if there is no way to avoid it. I would say as a parent my number one reason is safety!
When my children leave the house and are out at the park playing sports, or hanging out with friends, I want to feel a sense of safety knowing that my child can protect themselves.Training in a Martial Art is both fun and engaging It helps children create new friendships, and bonds with their classmates.

The Ground Survival program is not taught as a separate program it is integrated into your core training. The Combat Hapkido Ground Survival program was designed by Master David Rivas pictured Below. He designed an amazing program, that is not teaching our students to wrestle or grapple on the ground in a fight, but to escape, and recover, to a standing position.
