Metamora Physical Therapy is a privately owned company operated by Kathy Pepper, PT and Heidi Irwin, PT. We have both worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting for a combined 40 years. Our expertise is in treating general orthopedic conditions including low back pain, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injuries, ACL injuries, total hip and knee replacements and many other diagnoses.
We are both members of the community and strive to deliver one on one personalized care by physical therapists only. We are both ASTYM trained and Kathy Pepper is the only physical therapist to offer breast cancer rehabilitation in our area. I graduated from Wayne State University's Physical Therapy program in 1992 and have 25 years of experience and continuing education in outpatient physical therapy.

Services
Physical therapy is a great first-line treatment for most muscle and joint problems. Clinically proven to reduce pain and dysfunction, physical therapy also saves you time and money too. Although other kinds of practitioners will offer some of these treatments as "physical therapy, " it's important for you to know that physical therapy can only be provided by qualified and licensed physical therapists.
You will provide us with your referral for physical therapy if you have one. If you don't have a referral, let us know when you schedule your first visit with us (note - a referral is not always needed). Palpation - touching around the area of the pain/problem. This is done to check for the presence of tenderness, swelling, soft tissue integrity, tissue temperature, inflammation, etc.

The therapist are extremely knowledgeable, and listen to explanation of my pain. They will try a variety of treatments to obtain the goal of full recovery. I was treated with physical therapy, exercises, traction and needling. I have worked with many physical therapists and they are the best. I highly recommend Metamora Physical Therapy.

I knew my pain would require a special kind of physical therapist. After countless hours searching for a pelvic health therapist, I happened upon rave reviews for Metamora Physical Therapy. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Heidi made it her mission to solve what was causing my chronic nerve pain. Metamora Physical Therapy took excellent care of me! I was referred to Metamora Physical Therapy by my foot doctor after breaking a bone in my foot and having it surgically repaired. I didn't walk on that foot for 5 weeks. Once I did it was like learning how to walk all over again. I was scared and my gait was quite funky. My strength and balance were quite diminished. Lisa and all the staff at Metamora Physical Therapy helped me improve my walk, my strength and my balance. They used a variety of techniques. I was impressed by the staff, the facility and the techniques they used. It was hard work

I started my therapy with a detached rotator cuff and barely able to use my right arm. I was in a great deal of pain which medication and injections barely alleviated the pain at all. With the excellent therapy that I received, I can lift my arm all the way up, back and I have hardly any pain, if any at all. Because of this it looks like I'm going to be able to avoid surgery which is a major surgery for my particular detachment. Heidi and Kathy and all of the staff are absolutely amazing. I would not go anywhere else.

I have gone to several physical therapy centers in Lapeer County over the last 7 years. I could not have asked for better care! The therapists are very thorough and caring. All the staff are very friendly. Top notch cleanliness as well! I will be making this my first choice when ever I need physical therapy or any of the other special services they offer.

I was amazingly impressed with my outcome!! I could not be more pleased with how comfortable I felt when I would come in for my treatment!! I suffered for many years with plantar fasciitis and tried several different treatment options that were unsuccessful until I went to see these ladies and WOW, I can now get up and walk around and wear sandals again!!
