Every year, in order to determine what we are doing well and areas we need to improve upon, we do a survey for our clients. We had great feedback about our staff for 2020! Thank you for those that completed the survey. Please complete the new survey by using this link. Consistent with CDC Guidelines, NCC requires face coverings to be worn to enter and while in our office located in the Backus Community Center.

Services
When you or a loved one is experiencing emotional, family, marital, or psychological difficulties, Northland Counseling Center's International Falls office staff realize that seeking the assistance of a professional can be a difficult and sometimes confusing decision.
Out of respect for the importance of this decision, our staff members strive to help community members find the most appropriate match, in terms of both the type of therapy and specific therapist who will be meeting with you.Our therapists are trained in working with most emotional and psychological problems.

Much of the therapy provided through Northland Counseling Center's International Falls office is delivered individually. That is, once an initial Diagnostic Assessment is completed and treatment plan developed, an individual client (child, adolescent, or adult) meets with the clinician, alone, to address the identified problem and to work collaboratively toward achieving the client's goals.
Sometimes families find themselves struggling with conflicts between family members, misbehavior of children, or simply wanting help to work together to address problems being experienced with one or more people in the family. Northland Counseling Center's International Falls office offers Family Therapy sessions in which one or more family members meet jointly with the therapist.
From time to time, even the most loving partners may experience marital or couples conflict that disrupts or threatens the relationship. Northland Counseling Center's International Falls office provides neutral professionally trained therapists.
The therapist will work with the two partners, without taking sides or injecting personal bias, to help the couple begin working together, as a team, to learn and employ problem solving methods to effectively improve current and future dilemmas.

For many people, anxiety, fears of confidentiality violations, and a strong negative reaction is immediately triggered by a suggestion of participation in Group Therapy with 3 to 12 other people, to discuss personal problems. However, we have found that these fears and anxieties generally disappear after attending the first two or three group meetings.
