Family Centered Healthcare strives to provide patient-centered care that is inclusive to all. We stand on the foundation of quality care, an holistic approach, and a family conducive atmosphere. We seek to provide care to all people so they are able to maintain and achieve overall health and well-being.
For every appointment at check-in, you will be required to pay a standard fee for the visit before being seen. Any additional fees for service will be billed to you. We realize that unexpected situations can occur. For example, you learn that your health insurance does not cover a needed service or will pay only a small portion of the expense or maybe you are experiencing hard financial times.
This section of the website contains a link to your patient portal and other important information for you. The best thank you that you can give us is to send us a referral. We love providing care to you, and we will gladly welcome and care for those you send. We recently migrated to a new patient accounting system.
Dr. Vines, a native of Greensboro, NC, completed his undergraduate education at NC State University, majoring in Zoology (minor in Genetics). He completed his medical training at UNC, specializing in Family Medicine and remains on faculty as an Adjunct Professor. He has cared for patients in Orange County for over 20 years.

I took my baby for his first appointment at Family Centered Healthcare today. The nurse who checked us in was friendly and welcoming. Dr. Vines gave us his full attention, answered all my questions, helped with solutions to all of my concerns and gave me advice with full respect for my parenting choices and preferences. I felt seen, heard and cared for. I am grateful to have found this practice!

Very impressed. Dr Vines, as busy as he is, acted as if I was his only patient for the time I was there. There was no haste. There was no getting me in and out. The receptionist was super pleasant and kind, Olivia I think was her name. Christian the nurse was fantastic. The Dr. was more interested in getting to the root cause of things rather than just the symptom. Highly recommend.

Dr. Vines is great if you can get to him. He's been my son's pediatrician and my GP for 5 years. But when I went in today for an ear infection and a blood test I found out they'd ended walk-ins and I couldn't be seen for at least four days, and they didn't bother offering me an appointment past that. Just said they couldn't help me. Now this is my PCP. There were 2 people there and the nurse was standing around. Blood work is 2 minutes to draw blood (I was told to come back to get this done during walk-in hours) and checking my ear was maybe another minute. Add two for a prescription and I would

Family Centered Healthcare has some of the most irritating front desk staff. Rude and unprofessional and let's not forget the lies. The gal put an address into my daughter's file and then said that I gave it to her over the phone which is an outright lie because there was never a discussion of addresses. On more than one occasion I have arrived and stood at the front awaiting her to get off a personal phone call. When I first began going to FCHC there was a delightful staff and each visit was pleasant, but over the years this feature has been hit and miss at its best. Dr. Vines and NP James Wright

Dr. Vines is one of the best Family Practice doctors I've ever meet! He take as much time as needed with his patients. He is not one of those 15 minutes and your out kind of doc. He acts in the best interest of his patients and will fight with an insurance company on your behalf. His main priority is the people that have entrusted him with their care. Dr. Dain Vines is a wonderful doctor and oversees the care of my whole family. The practice has had some bumps in trying to figure out how to best handle its scheduling since he is in such high demand, but they do try to work with you as they can. I've seen a few of the nurse practitioners as they've rotated in and out of the practice, and though they change, they are all knowledgable, compassionate and good at their jobs. We will continue to use Dr. Vines.
