Kiel Cooperative Pre-School
Kiel Cooperative Preschool is an equal opportunity program for children age 2 1/2 to 5 years. Our mission is to provide a high-quality early childhood education for your children and to help families realize their preschooler's full potential. We believe in learning through play. We provide opportunities for socialization that lead to enhanced language development.

We teach children how to have respect for each other and their surrounding environment. All children will have weekly opportunities to develop their creative skills through hands-on learning opportunities. Our teachers and staff encourage a positive self-image as well as awareness of social and cultural differences.

The Explorers Class is a mixed-age course for children 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. The curriculum focuses on play-based, hands-on learning, with more structure than the Junior Preschool curriculum. The Explorers program features kindergarten readiness activities, appropriate for each child's individual developmental level.
Kiel Cooperative Preschool opened in 1972, through the efforts of area parents who saw a need for an early education program in the Kiel area. The program has been in its current location, above Kiel City Hall, since its inception. As a cooperative program, KCP (originally known as Kiel Nursery School) has served hundreds of area children and has been administered by dozens of parents who have served on the preschool board of directors.
Winter Carnival is our biggest fundraiser of the year! It is held on the first Saturday in February. All of our currently enrolled families work together to make an unforgettable day for the kids in our community. Everyone is welcome to join in on the games, prizes, animal balloons, and face painting.
