Following a successful career in advertising, Eileen pursued her lifelong affinity for plants and design, and in 2006 formed Dig Your Garden Landscape Design, located in San Anselmo, Marin County, CA. Extensively trained in horticulture and architectural landscape design, as well as environmental landscaping studies at Merritt College and the College of Marin, Eileen is also a graduate of the Bay Friendly Training Certification Program (now Rescape California), an organization committed to eco-friendly and sustainable landscaping practices.

With a focus on sustainable practices, we also draw from an extensive knowledge of Mediterranean and California native plants to achieve low-water, low-maintenance designs and creative solutions.
Dig Your Garden Landscape Design and the teams we collaborate with are committed to creating unique, thoughtful and beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces for residences in the North Bay to include Marin county and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The landscape projects we design range in size and scope from small landscape design renovations to more extensive outdoor living spaces.
The APLD International Landscape Design Awards Program honors excellence in landscape design. Projects are judged on the basis of difficulty, craftsmanship, attention to detail and execution. Our work spans a variety of landscape transformations and styles. Each customized landscape design draws cues and inspiration from the home's architecture, the site itself, the surrounding environment, and the lifestyles of our clients.

Recently Eileen designed our backyard landscape. She worked closely with us through the whole process including the design of retaining walls/steps/paths, choosing plants, optimizing irrigation, placement of water fountains and benches and light fixtures.
Before we started the backyard was an eyesore. The backyard has been transformed with lots of interesting and colorful plants with butterflies, hummingbirds and bees galore. Eileen’s knowledge of plants is phenomenal and her abilities to combine different plants is even more amazing !
We highly recommend Eileen for any landscape project.
