Small Steps Day Care School
Small Steps South has been providing quality day care and early childhood education in York County since 1984. We understand the importance of having peace of mind that comes from leaving your child in a facility in which you have confidence. Our staff members are dedicated to providing the highest quality early childhood programs in an atmosphere of love and learning.

Our major objective is to recognize the individual needs of each child and to provide our staff with the means to respond to those needs. We emphasize values to develop self-esteem, manners, respect, sharing, responsibility and honesty. We also focus on making good choices and most importantly having fun each day.
Services
Small Steps South offers a complete range of services designed to meet most child care needs. Hours of operation are 6:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, year round. All employees are carefully selected and screened for their demonstrated ability in childcare and participate in ongoing service training.
This program is ideal for infants atleast six weeks old and continues until they are on table food, and able to walk. Our infant classroom teachers at Small Steps South provide a loving and nurturing environment while making each individual infant's daily needs a top priority. Our teachers enjoy interacting through stimulating activities to develop your child's cognitive, physical and emotional development.
This program is designed to ease the transition from the infant room to the two-year-old Toddler room. These children are walking, eating all table food, and no longer need a morning nap. This is the time of discovery for your toddler where they can physically move and learn about everything around them and experience a wider range of stimulating activities.
This program is ideal for toddlers who are walking, talking, eating table food, and becoming independent. The following four areas will be emphasized in our Older Toddler Program: social and emotional growth, physical development and motor skills, personal hygiene, self-reliance and language development.
The activities are designed to nurture self-esteem and self-control in the children. They will increase their participation in learning center based activities that are fun and stimulating. They are offered a wide variety of activities including singing songs, art projects, music, dramatic play, identifying numbers and letters, colors, shapes, weather, the calendar, and reading.

My girls have been going to Small Steps for about 2 years. The staff couldn't be more caring. The girls love their "teachers".

I'm a former employee and my child also attended the center. The owners care about their staff and the children in there care. I couldn't recommend a better childcare center.
