Services
All orthodontists must be licensed to practice, but at this time only 1 in 3 orthodontists have continued on to complete Board Certification. The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification process signifies a unique achievement-a significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics.
The office is efficient and friendly. The entire staff is helpful and they were always very informative about what was going on with my treatment. Upon completing the first initial visit and consultation for my eldest daughter's first round of orthodontic treatment, I knew that I was in the absolutely right place.
As a courtesy to you and your family dentist, we will always discuss the feasibility of braces or tooth straightening without charging a fee. There may be a co-payment for X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. As a rule of thumb, we like to evaluate young patients after the 6-year molars erupt and the front permanent teeth just start to appear.
It's more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment.
Thanks to today's advances in orthodontic technology, Forrest Orthodontics can provide our patients with more options when it comes to wearing braces than ever before. While traditional metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are very popular with teens and adults who are self conscious about wearing braces, along with Invisalign removable aligners, the "braceless" alternative to straight teeth.
