I woke up to the sound of my five-year-old daughter yelling over and over again, "school's out for summer!" She's tone-deaf and loud, so I imagine this is as close as I will get to hearing Alice Cooper live in concert. I proceeded with my morning routine and drove my son to school for his last day of first grade.
The weather is getting warmer, which means it's time for another flagging season to get underway. Our opening day consists of early morning traffic setups, stop-and-go paddles, and the smell of asphalt. There are no fans to cheer us on. Still, there is a general understanding that our traffic control flaggers keep our community and our business partners safe as they work diligently to improve Maryland's infrastructure.
