When you're charged with a crime, it may feel like the entire world is against you. And your criminal defense attorney is the only person who is required by law to remain on your side no matter what. When you're charged with a DUI, it may not even matter that you were actually drinking. The prosecution has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, and they have to do it while following the law and the Constitutions of both Florida and the United States. Even when the judge reads a guilty verdict, it doesn't mean that your case is over. You have the right to appeal your trial verdict on the grounds that the judge made an error in the law or that your constitutional rights are violated. For important pretrial rulings, you may even have the right to an immediate appeal to ensure that you get a fair trial the first time.

It means that you have the right to be in the same financial situation as if the accident never happened. It doesn't mean that you're trying to pull a get rich quick scheme as some insurance companies try to imply.
