There's a lot more to building a healthy retirement than just piling up money in a 401(k). Sure, that's a great start, but at some point, you're going to look at all of that money that you've saved and ask yourself. And the answer to that can be complex. There are so many other questions that have to be answered first when going through your retirement planning.
What do you want retirement to look like? How will you spend your time? Where will you live? Where do you want to travel? Do you want to leave a legacy to your kids and grandkids? Are you prepared to handle nursing home expenses? How do you feel about watching your money bounce up and down in the market?

1 Substance over style. You won't find us trying to impress you with cuff links, mahogany office furniture, or a shelf filled with leather-bound books. We want you to be comfortable when you come to visit us. We'll be polite and we'll offer you a snack and something to drink. But we don't spend our money or effort trying to knock your socks off with an ostentatious environment.
Most people decide that they need a financial advisor when they're within a couple of years of retirement, so it makes sense that most of the folks we work with are over the age of 50. But we do work with a lot of younger clients as well, especially the children of our retiree and pre-retiree clients.

If you're like most business owners, you understand the importance of good bookkeeping and the crucial role that it plays in making sure that your business is being run as efficiently as possible, but you probably don't get excited about devoting more than 45 seconds of time and energy to the bookkeeping effort.
For many of our clients, especially those who are already retired, traveling is a big part of life.
