0.25¢ a pound for aluminum!? What a rip off! They need to post their sorry prices online, so others can avoid the hassel. However, the staff was nice and helpful with sorting.

Very helpful and offered good $$ on all of the scrap materials I've taken in over the years.

Best place to go bar none ,the workers there help you separate cans ,plastic and bottles ,in fact they do it for you ,you don't have to touch nothing ,only if you want ,good job western scrap Inc ,keep up the good work ,and thank you

The worst place i have ever been the guys took all my stuff out of my bags and threw them away then the woman in side says that they have a limit on the amount they can take and left me to figure away to get the 2 full barrels of can back home with nothing to put them in she was very rude

I had a bobtail dump truck load of scrap metal and called many places, all the other places paid by the ton, this place paid by the pound, somewhat easy in and out transaction

Have used them for household recycling and business recycling. Prices seem decent for what they pay and staff is decent. Have had issues with our list of employees able to pick up funds. Other than that no real issues.

I don't often utilize scrap yards but I had a old project vehicle and several engines/transmissions I needed to get rid of. If your looking to get rich off your precious metal, you won't. But, they will pay you for your metal at a reasonable rate. Make sure to have all of any fluids drained out of any auto parts. The lady up front has a name, Christina was very courteous and friendly. This is the best place to recycle, they are very helpful, they helped me, separate plastics and cans, and get you right out of there with the quickness. That's why I give them 5 stars!

Lady who answers the phone is so rude and needs to be replaced!! Very unprofessional and all around grumpy attitude. It's almost like I'm bothering her every time I call! Worst customer service!

The lady on the phone is ALWAYS rude. When something doesn't happen when they say it will, we call and she says "why are you calling me again". They never stick to a schedule for pick up/deliveries and then always say "we will try to get there". Probably the worst company to attempt to do business with.

The recycling people working there really go out of their way to help you grab your stuff, get others out of the way, and get you going on your way. I've been to centers where staff, a group of three or so, will just watch you struggle from the shade. Haha! I understand the shade, but dang! Halp meh! But these guys are great here.

Never dealt with unfairness, our times coming here. You get what you bring.

I use the recycling center here. They take glass bottles, plastic bottles and aluminum cans. They also provide trash cans and workers to help you unload your car. There is a separate office indoors to get your money. Very simple and helpful place! I always go here to recycle my stuff

This place just ripped me off. Bad. I do electrical and recycle a lot of copper all over the country. I've been getting $1.20/lb for #1 insulated copper everywhere I've been for the past few months. As recently as last week. Today they gave me $.35/lb. I understand the price fluctuates, and everyone gives different prices... but at 30% of what the going rate is? That's some crooked @$$ nonsense. I needed it gone or I would've taken it somewhere else. Needless to say I will not EVER do business with them and would not recommend anyone else does either.

Western Scrap is just around the corner from where I work. They give us good service with the scrap metal generated at my industrial facility. They send a forklift over, pick up our scrap bins,
empty them and return them to us. A few days later we pick up a check. And for personal recycling, they buy the aluminum cans, glass, and plastic. I recycle here very often. One cool thing about this place is they have two dollar bills and fifty cent pieces. For that reason, I do not take in too much at a time.

We called ahead to confirm they would take our scrap metal. My husband went that same day, and the refused to take it because they needed a receipt showing we had purchased it. They could have told us this over the phone, especially since my husband asked specifically if they took it. So he went a second time to drop it off, to be told he would not get the money for 2 days. Very unprofessional. If they had been upfront with their procedures it would be ok, but they aren't.

This is where I go to recycle all of my CA CRV materials. My recycling system at home separates CRV from non-CRV and then separates CRV items into: aluminum, plastics, and glass. This makes it simple to recycle here because they require separate bins for those three items.

Plastics and cans go into the wire bins and glass goes into the plastic bins. As far as I know, they offer a competitive price for your recyclables. Don't wear anything nice here, you're bound to step in old beer or soda. It's a scrap yard after all.

Very unreliable, don't go by their hours, from the phone or posted, they just close early sometimes for no reason better show up well over an hour within closing/opening to be sure you aren't making a wasted trip. Very unprofessional, unorganized, and disgustingly filthy (obviously, it is a recycling center but still). unfortunately this is the only recycling center to my knowledge that actually pays you for the recycling in Bakersfield, or I wouldn't come here anymore.
