The vision to open a multi-purpose space containing both a salon and art gallery brought together two of the passions of owner Blake Elliot Henschel. Inspired by the art galleries of New York, Blake sought to bring that experience to the heart of Deland. The ambiance of Blake Elliot Salon and Gallery reflects many facets of Blake's personality - attention to details, an appreciation of aesthetics, and a love of community.
Ever since I took my first class on basic piecing techniques for quilts, I have found great satisfaction in expressing myself in fabric. My goal is not to recreate a scene or object with the fabric, but to record my emotional response to it. Most of my artworks are inspired by nature; especially cycles in the natural world.

Blake's salon is beautiful, relaxing, and everything you want in a salon experience - right in the heart of downtown DeLand. Blake has been doing my hair for years. Every time I get it done, I get a ton of compliments. I wish I could style my hair as good as he does. Magical!

I just found my new salon and stylist! There was an appointment mix-up with another salon so I called the Blake Elliott Salon and was fortunate enough to get a same day appointment. My stylist was Parker and he did a fantastic job!!! Very, very happy so appointment mix-up might have been a blessing in disguise.
