Dr. Kent J. Spillman originally opened his office in Arvada in 1982 and had a successful periodontal practice for over 30 years. Dr. Samantha A. Campbell joined Dr. Spillman in practice at the Arvada office in 2011 while establishing Foothills Periodontics in Lakewood. The office in Arvada was relocated to the current Westpark location in 2013.
Dental implants are a great solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. They are better than other alternatives like bridges because no additional teeth need to be altered to replace the new tooth. Dental implants are made from Titanium and resemble a screw. The entire implant process is performed over the course of a few months.
Bone grafting is where the jawbone is built up to accommodate a dental implant or other restorative device. Bone grafting is a common procedure that is used frequently for dental implants and other periodontal procedures. The bone graft is most often from a cadaver source but, occasionally bovine and porcine sources are used.
We offer different types of sedation dentistry. These include administering oral sedation, in the form of a pill, and intravenous sedation to deliver a combination of drugs. All this depends on the needs of the patient. In this way the patient and the dentist are comfortable providing and receiving the best possible dental care.
When a patient goes to their dental office for a routine checkup and cleaning, it is not uncommon for the Dentist to perform an Oral Cancer Screening Exam. The purpose of this exam is to detect any early signs of mouth cancer. When abnormalities are found in the mouth, you may be sent to a specialist for a biopsy.

Dr. Campbell is an incredible surgeon! She had a calm and reassuring presence and, because I was nervous, she talked me through every step of the procedure. Her office followed up with me the day after my procedure to ensure that I was alright, and my graft healed beautifully. I highly recommend her!

I was extremely nervous about having a gum graft after a failed procedure years ago. After hearing how wonderful Dr. Campbell is from my dentist, I finally scheduled. She is very skilled, and knew exactly what I needed. I want to thank Dr. Campbell and her assistants, for their professionals and compassion for my 93-year - old father. Due to Coronavirus he was unable to see his dentist for over a year. When I was able to get my father in to his dentist the dentist found two serious problems. These issues required a periodontist. The situation was further complicated by a broken vertebrate with extreme pain and limited mobility. My father had two abscessed implants that needed to be removed. Dr. Campbell and the entire staff at Westpark Perio are amazing! Everyone is so caring, comforting, and patient. The staff are very courteous, friendly, and make you feel as comfortable as you can. A big plus--they called me back! I found one place closer to my work and they apparently didn't want my business. Another one could only see me early morning or late afternoon. Thanks to the other doctor on site, Dr. Spillman, I was able to be seen during the day. That was a better fit for me. They are wonderful! This stuff isn't cheap to begin with, but at least it's nice to know that a place is willing to make things as comfortable and convenient as possible. Westpark Periodontics Staff are absolutely wonderful!!! I was always greeted warmly from the moment I walked in and had my temperature checked to the moment I left. Jolene and the other assistants have all been warm, welcoming, and encouraging. I have horribly high dental anxiety to the point that IV sedation is necessary at times. Dr. Campbell and Jolene always took the time to make sure my concerns and questions where addressed, never once making me feel embarrassed about my anxiety. I had to have a gum surgery and I was dreading it but Dr Campbell made sure I was comfortable and felt nothing. The procedure went so quickly it was over before I knew it! Dr Campbell was fast but gentle and I knew I was in good hands. Dr Campbell and Jolene checked on me during my healing time. I could tell they genuinely care about me and health. This is a great office. My general dentist referred me here and I can see why.
