In 2013 two Healthcare education professionals got together and looked at what was wrong with today's standard in Healthcare education and decided that instead of complaining, they were going to do something about it! This is where Michiana Healthcare Education Center, Inc. started and for the past five years, it has provided high-quality healthcare education to thousands.
Michiana Healthcare Education specializes in American Heart Association (AHA) CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne pathogens, ACLS and PALS Courses. We also provide EMS CEU's and initial education for Medical First Responder (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course. We partnered with DT4EMS, Inc. to be able to provide EMS/Fire, in-hospital, and women's escaping violent encounters classes.

Services
This course is designed to provide the student with the core skills necessary to sustain life, prevent further injury and reduce pain at the scene of an emergency until more advanced help arrives. The MHEC MFR (EMR at NREMT Level) course covers basic safety at the scene of an emergency, fundamentals of patient assessment, basic airway control methods, emergency splinting and hemorrhage control and other specialty topics.
The purpose of this course is to advance your level of licensure and prepare you to respond to medical emergencies and provide on-scene treatment, stabilization and ambulance transport of ill or injured patients at the EMT level.
You will learn CPR, anatomy and physiology, airway management, patient assessment, care of medical and traumatic emergencies, blood borne pathogen protection, patient extrication from damaged vehicles, patient transport, HazMat response tactics, and incident command.

Michiana Healthcare Education offers various types of continuing education opportunities through our state-approved Continuing Education Sponsorship. Students with a provider license can select from the pre-approved classes that cover topics in all seven of the required categories. If the specific course is not already available, we will be glad to customize a program to meet your specific training needs.
MHEC Inc. has partnered with DT4EMS to provide these nationally recognized courses to the Great Lakes Region! These programs have gained national recognition and have featured in many articles and conference throughout the country. We are honored to be part of such a great program and are excited to offer these programs locally and regionally through our education center.
Are you compliant with the State of Michigan requirements for CPR and first aid training?. Yes, we offer American Heart Association (AHA), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI), Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) and American Trauma Event Management (ATEM) courses which are all accepted by the State of Michigan.
