Some businesses succeed as a result of an invention or idea. Some have a patented product that only they can deliver. Others win contracts to provide services with government businesses, that allow them to prosper as long as they can meet demand. The printing industry doesn't operate in the same way.

There's a free market of competitors vying for print work that may or may not end up in your favor. This can be tough when people buy based on price, but luckily for us, there's a lot that goes into winning the projects we quote. Whether it be a print or mailing job, a design project or fulfillment of a year-long series of on-demand needs, there's room to stand out through service, quality and attention to detail.

There's a reason we're so good at digital printing, and it has little to do with our amazing digital presses. It's because we're also really damn good at offset printing. Just like we were with letterpress, and just like we'll be with ink jet (the next phase of printing technology - ask us about it).

As much as we love a great printing job, even one with marvelously finished details, scored and trimmed to perfection, it's generally not very effective until getting into the hands of its intended audience. That's why we're almost always called upon for our mailing and list management services. When it comes to lists and mailings, you'll certainly find loads of people willing to take your money and deliver your print piece.

OK, we've become pretty dang good at printing on paper stocks and substrates. That's true. It doesn't mean our eyes haven't wandered to other ways (and materials) to print your message. While the applications may be a bit different, the art couldn't be more alike. Plates, screens, colors and crops are all park of the equation, but the results can take on a world of different forms.

At what resolution should I save my photos and graphics? Resolution should be set to 300 dpi. Pictures and graphics pulled from the internet are often low resolution, typically 72 dpi or 96 dpi. Avoid these graphics, as they will appear pixilated and blocky when printed. Also note that you should save all photos in CMYK mode, not RGB mode when possible.
