Our guests are housed in our lovely "bed and breakfast" type home in their own private rooms with microwave, refrigerator and coffee pot. Pulled out of their daily life and placed in a comfortable atmosphere, our guests are given time to rest, reflect and practice the presence of God. There is a way to spiritual freedom and you can learn to continually walk in that freedom.

Services
Sam is an ordained Foursquare minister. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke Divinity School. In June of 1995, he retired after 31 years of active, ordained pastoral ministry to devote his full energies to His High Places. He is a charter member of the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors).
Our Weekend Intensive Program (4 Day) is offered Thursday through Sunday and provides an individual or a couple with a counseling experience with either one or two counselors. This option is ideal for those who cannot be absent from work or home for longer than a weekend. This focused approach allows for 14 hours of counseling with solutions discovered as well as practical approaches uncovered for life back home.
Please note that His High Places is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit ministry. We are committed to the work of the ministry and as such, do not want costs to be the primary factor in whether a guest is able to participate in our program. The financial figures below represent the costs associated with our program.
Some issues for which we see real progress are: marital disharmony including infidelity (affair), divorce recovery, pornography, adult sexual dysfunction and sexual addictions, rape recovery, life management and relational issues (life out of control), recovery from traumatic experiences (PTSD), past childhood abuse (emotional, physical or sexual) which interrupts life, inordinate anger, depression, anxiety, burnout, dishonesty, grief processing, parenting problems, career disillusionment and direction, strife, self-worth issues, financial bondage/mismanagement, moral failure, and financial misconduct.
I came to HHP at the lowest point in my life. I struggled almost my entire life with the same issues manifesting in various harmful ways. HHP offered life altering, mind shifting, heart reshaping truths delivered with and through the love and truth of Christ Jesus. If we don't get to the root of your damages and woundedness, we won't be set free.

My husband and I found His High Places to be a God-send to us during our time of need. The staff are friendly, warm, and sensitive to your individual spiritual needs. We found the environment to be relaxing, therapeutic, and conducive to reestablishing healthy relationship and intimacy for us. His High Places offers the opportunity to focus on the hard work of yielding the inner man to the governing principles of CREATOR GOD. While this is a beautiful safe retreat from the world, it is also a battle house teaching how GOD’s word applies to the struggles of the mind and soul. HHP radically changed my life. I was grieving a divorce and spiritual trauma and was given so much grace, compassion, and support as I pursued deeper understanding and healing. I had Sarah as my counselor, and she was the most wonderful therapist I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot! Burnout was what got me to His High Places and that’s where I collided with God’s grace and mercy. I needed to experience those in new ways and His High Places provided the environment and coaching for that to happen. When I came to His High Places, I was just looking for a way to be able to come to terms with the chaos and turmoil that was in my life. I was very apprehensive coming into my week with HHP. But by the end of the experience, all I could think was, “give me more!” The counselors are incredibly professional and knowledgeable, they trust the Holy Spirit to guide their time with you as well! I felt safe, loved, cared for- and put in the WORK that years of therapy would have taken! His High Places met me at the most difficult time in my life. From my first phone call getting scheduled with Anita all the way to my last day there, the entire staff was so friendly and helpful. They truly are doing the Lord’s work and bringing Christ directly into Christian counseling. The work we did with my life in my 2 week stay was incredible. I’ve been a Christian for over 20 years and I experienced the Lord more in my time at HHP than at any other time in my life. My counselor John was incredible. This was a life changing experience for me. I am beyond blessed at the love and support I received at His High Places.
