Dr. Karen graduated from Life West Chiropractic College in 2000 and has, since then, specialized in Applied Kinesiology and Clinical Nutrition. After relocating her family from San Francisco, Dr. Karen's first office opened on Oak Island in 2001. Dr. Karen has always sought to solve her and her patient's health challenges in the most natural, conservative way possible.
Chiropractic care is used most often to conservatively treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, headache, pain in the joints of the: arms, legs, and jaw. I have a 37 degree scoliotic curvature. My entire Lombar area is fused : total 21 titanium implants. I've been using chiro all my life. Dr. Karen is the first chiro who has ever been able to help me. And Charles is her massage therapist who's absolutely brilliant, dealing with my back spasms.. I honestly don't know what I would do without them.

Island Healing has enhanced my life in so many ways. From expert chiropractic treatment with Dr. Karen to theraputic massages. There is a guided detox and expert yoga instruction. I feel like a member of their family, even my dogs have gotten adjustments. The commitment from the faculty at Island Healing to the Brunswick county community is obvious.

Absolutely amazing. Went in with a killer headache. Ben was very professional and knew exactly how to relieve my pain without doing too much or too little. He communicated with me to make sure I was comfortable and explain what he was feeling but not too much so I could totally relax. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax or in need of relief.
