Welcome to Houser Refuse Service, a locally owned and operated refuse and recycling company servicing Lincoln Nebraska. Houser Refuse Service offers professional, consistent, quality service at an affordable price. Our services include residential trash collection, plus recycling and yard waste services.

Whether you need one, two or all three services. As a community oriented company, we are dedicated to providing friendly, efficient and affordable waste hauling services to our customers. Services
Houser Refuse Service has been providing excellent waste management services to the residents of Lincoln since 1976. Owned and operated by brothers Randy & Dana Houser, Houser Refuse Service is now a 2nd generation family business that continues to offer great service & develop innovative solutions that help keep waste removal services simple, affordable & convenient.
Bulk Items such as furniture, appliances, etc. need to be scheduled for pickup 24 - 48 hours prior to your service day to ensure the items get picked up. Once a week curbside pickup - (if you are unable to get your trash to the curb, please call our office & special arrangements can be made). Please have all of your waste curbside by 6am on your service day or put it out the night before.
Since 1976, Houser Refuse Service has been satisfying their customers & keeping them happy by delivering professional, affordable and convenient waste removal & recycling services. The waste industry has changed immensely over the years. And recycling has had a huge impact in these changes. Since we no longer throw everything into the landfill, we now have to separate the recyclables from the trash.
Houser Refuse Service believes in staying active in the local community. By keeping business local and supporting our neighborhood businesses, we help keep our neighbors employed and our tax dollars at home. We proudly support and actively participate in the local City Mission's program, Haulers Helping The Homeless.'
Please find your balance on your statement or call the office if you need that information. Payments are due by the 1st of the month and can take up to forty-eight (48) hours to post. We used Houser for over 2 years. More often than not when I called the office, I didn't get anyone to answer. Would take multiple calls (4+) for someone to answer. But over the last few months, we were not happy with their service. Not all the trash being picked up. Or being charged more for things that we didn't think would cost extra. We finally made the choice to change companies. On the last day of Houser picking up our garbage, our new garbage company was also dropping of our new trashcans. The driver of the Houser truck had the guts to walk up to me in my driveway to say "please don't tell

For some reason today our garbage was not picked up so my husband called and the gal that answered the phone said that our trashcan was not out which is absolutely not true! My husband then asked the gal “so where do we go from here?” hoping she would say they would get someone to come back or possibly come tomorrow but her response was “well where do we go from here?” I guess where we’re going from here is looking for a new garbage company!

Had some branches bundled up, called them early so that they would pick them up, they didn't, called customer service and the gal(Angie or Mary) answered, told her my issue, she had serious attitude, she said they were too long,and they are not tree services but I had similar bundles in the past, i believe they were lazy to even try to pick them, I got so fed up with her belittling attitude, I told her I will start looking for other providers, she responded by saying "you go ahead and do that, bye". Very rude.

Updated: The owner just stopped by our house and took the trash. Thank you very much! We will continue with H&R for trash removal service.
We have been using Houser Refuse for more than two years, they have a good service until yesterday. Their employees did not take the trash. I called H&R and thought this problem can be easily fixed. When I called them, the customer service said that we did not put our garbage outside, but we did! We put the garbage ban out near the road every Tuesday night! I told her this is not true. Then the customer service said their driver saw we put the garbage ban in

Service is terrible. Had numerous issues, they didn’t seem to want to resolve, or care to lose my business. Easy decision to change providers.

We've been customers since shortly after moving into the house a few years ago. Service has never been an issue and the price is highly competitive.

Pretty good company! They're reliable and consistent, always on time. The price is decent, too. The only thing I would say needs a little bit of work would be their communication, sometimes they're hard to get a hold of. Julie is wonderful, though, and when I do get a call back/answer she is great to work with. I would recommend to anyone in Lincoln.

Always get back to me in a timely manner if I leave a message, but usually answers their phone and gives an answer to whatever question I asked. Great service, great people, and great price.
