We are a state-licensed, non-profit preschool program administered by St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. We have been providing quality early education experiences since 1961. Our programs are designed to provide your child an atmosphere that facilitates respect for individuals, love for one another, and caring for each other in a manner that develops self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-reliance.
On any given day, you'll find children in our school learning through free-choice play in our indoor and outdoor centers; working in our garden; participating in one of our summer playdates; working toward an individual academic goal; or working as a whole-class group on a unit of study. We believe communication between teachers and parents is one of the keys to the success of your child's preschool experience.

Our mission is to provide play-based, individualized, hands-on learning within a prepared environment. The school seeks to educate the social, physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of each child, while generating a sense of community among children, teachers, and families. Continually questioning, evaluating and upgrading established procedures and systems.
Weekly, two-way communication is a required component of each classroom at St. Timothy's. Two-way communication is vital because we want parents to know that their comments, questions, or concerns are truly welcomed by the staff. Electronic communication is the preferred method of communication at our preschool because it's environmentally friendly, saves in paper and ink costs, and is very convenient for opening up the lines of communication.
Jump Start (2 and 3-year olds): Our two or three-day 2&3-year old program provides a "jump start" to preschool. The program is designed to meet the needs of both two year olds and three year olds who are still toilet training or who aren't yet ready to start our three and four-year old class.
The program is intended to be a more in-depth introduction to each of our curricular areas: math, verbal language, written language, social skills, science, fine motor, gross motor. The program is play-based, using the Creative Curriculum to guide instruction and assessment. Children are offered a variety of types of play to encourage their social and academic progress.

We use Creative Curriculum as the inspiration for our classroom planning as well as for our individual student assessment. Each of our classrooms are physically arranged to support Interest Areas - one of the fundamental components of the curriculum. We are a play-based preschool, and believe that preschool-aged children are most natural when at play and when they have a choice in what and how they're learning.
The staff at St. Timothy's Preschool continually strives to enhance the quality of the preschool program. Employing Lead Teachers who have achieved Bachelor's or Master's degrees.
