Services
We will do everything necessary to ensure complete patient satisfaction in a cheerful, pleasant, team approach. We commit ourselves to fully educate our patients regarding their unique, individual eye care needs and product purchases by communicating in layperson's terms in a relaxed atmosphere. Our doctor and staff will practice the highest ethical standards and strive to stay current with the latest information, techniques, and products.
We provide computer-assisted comprehensive eye exams using state-of-the-art instrumentation. A comprehensive eye examination can take up to one hour and will include: external and internal eye health evaluation (tests for glaucoma, cataract, visual field defects, etc.), refraction (careful measurement of you prescription) and binocular vision assessment (eye teaming).
The Eye ER at FECC is NOT an emergency room or an urgent care center (like Express Care). FECC provides Urgent and Emergent Medical eye care such as those listed above. FECC further provides care for chronic medical eye conditions such as Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Eye Disease, Vision Loss and Double Vision.
An irregular shaped cornea or lens prevents light from focusing properly on the retina, the light sensitive surface at the back of the eye. As a result, vision becomes blurred at any distance. Astigmatism frequently occurs with other vision conditions like nearsightedness (myopia) and farsightedness (hyperopia).
The term "color blindness" is also used to describe this visual condition, but very few people are completely color blind. Most people with color vision deficiency can see colors, but they have difficulty differentiating between. People who are totally color blind, a condition called achromatopsia, can only see things as black and white or in shades of gray.
