Services
Located in beautiful Absarokee, Montana, Stillwater Veterinary Clinic has been providing high quality veterinary services for large and small animals for over 20 years. Dr. Bill Routen and his wife Terri purchased the practice in 1992, and have been providing top-notch medical and surgical services with an emphasis on personal, compassionate customer care ever since.
At Stillwater Veterinary Clinic, we are pleased to offer a full selection of high quality equine services, including reproductive, emergency, medical, lameness, surgery, colic, or preventative medicine (vaccines). Whether at the clinic, or on your farm or ranch, our team is knowledgeable and well-equipped to handle all your horses' needs.
Lameness is one of the most common performance limiting issues for any type of equine athlete, and can be a problem for backyard horses as well. Whether it's a long standing problem or a new issue, our knowledgeable veterinarians will assess your equine partner to localize, diagnose, and formulate a treatment plan.
Our clinic offers a full line of equine preventative health services including vaccines, deworming, dentistry, and nutritional recommendations. We also carry a full line of preventative health products to help your horse be at their most happy and healthy. With veterinarians on call 24/7, Stillwater Vet is proud to provide quality emergency services for your horse as well.
Did you know a horse's teeth continually erupt over the course of their life? Because of the dynamic nature of a horse's mouth, their teeth should be evaluated by a veterinarian every 1-2 years to determine if a "dental float" needs to be performed. During a "float", sharp enamel points are reduced, and malocclusions can be corrected.

We had what we felt was an emergency with our little pooch. The veterinary clinic that we've been going to for over 12 years couldn't fit us in. I called this Veterinary Clinic they got us in at 3 and I couldn't have asked for better care or nicer people we are pleased with the care that we received today

The experience they have is unprecedented as well as being self-sufficient. No delays in waiting for test results. They cater to your pet's needs, your budget as well as have been through it all themselves.
