Hallagan has been a family owned and operated company for over 100 years. Hallagan Furniture has been making upholstered furniture since 1899 starting in Canastota, NY, just east of Syracuse.
Simon Hallagan, with his partner Thompson, were finding success, and decided to move the company to Newark, NY, in 1913 to the old Mora car plant, which was out of business and lying empty. To this day, the saw dust collection ductwork in the rough mill bears the name "Canastota Couch Company." The company did well in the years under Simon's leadership.

During the recent shutdown we proudly worked with over 150 community volunteers to produce and distribute more than 27,000 masks, free, to healthcare workers. Since 1899 Hallagan Furniture has been creating comfortable, durable and stylish furniture in upstate New York.

I would not buy from here again. After 3 months cushions no longer held shape-foam was flattening out and you could see the edge of the foam through the fabric. The foam was replaced but it took longer to get foam replaced than to get the couch. made. It is a little better but the cushion inserts are still cheaply put together. After sitting on it the cushions are all different heights and the edge of foam is visible.

This company promises 4-6 weeks. Then tells you two more and then it’s holiday and the plant closes. How do you charge top dollar for your product and you have orders that have been on back order not by 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 weeks!!!!! I talk to people and this company has a history of this!! I chose the floor model. Hmmm, stock up on the fabric and the style would have been a smart choice. $3500 for this sofa and ottoman! Last conversation from HL Stevens said oh we have no idea the factory is closed. Ordered sofa and ottoman Oct 15. Today is Jan. 1. Factory closed. If you don’t mind
