One of many historic textiles mills around the piedmont region that we reclaim our old growth flooring and beams. This 400-year-old wood was used as structural floor supports in the textile mills across North Carolina. We source wood from the Piedmont Carolina area which is known to have some of the best heart pine in the growing region.
Virgin Longleaf Pine once covered nearly 70 million acres of the United States' southeastern coastal plain. Many of these trees reached heights of 175 feet, and took from 200 to 500 years to mature. Respect for all that a tree offers has always been our passion, and this is guiding principle in our business model.

Brian with Chronicle Millworks built us a custom 7+ foot dining table with a bench- we are BLOWN AWAY at the finished product!! We wanted a table that will last forever for our family, and he far exceeded our expectations! Brian is extremely detail oriented- the table is exactly what we were looking for. He was also very professional. He had the table done before we expected it, and delivered + set up the table right in our dining room. We would definitely recommend him for any custom furniture need in the future! Thanks Brian!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of unique woods with many of them being repurposed from the local Mills. They are incredible at designing custom furniture that is both modern and classic in look. The stools I purchased are very solidly built and will be around even after I am gone. Would recommend to anyone in the area that is looking for one of a kind pieces!

To start this review you need to understand a bit about me. I do a little traveling and when time permits I enjoy the search for finding local pieces of wood. It's not your traditional souvenirs but does often time lead to an adventure. While in the area I searched the googler for milled lumber and this place came up. I took a chance and stopped by Chronicle Millworks and was not disappointed. What a neat place, if you are looking for wood, wood-metal products this is your stop. They have a showroom with a number of beautiful furniture pieces that would look wonder in ANY house. I say any because

Brian built several tables, a media console, a celling beam and even a sliding (crawl space) access door for our remodeled movie room. Brian does amazing work, making sure you can see the fine grain of the wood then combining it with the cool look of metal. Totally custom designs to our specifications. We couldn't be happier with our new furniture.
