What does signing a lease mean? A lease is a legally binding contract for the rental of an apartment for a set time period at a set price. Breaking a lease will typically carry with it penalties and costs associated with trying to find someone to replace you as a resident. We recommend that residents take very seriously the signing of a lease as it carries the same weight as a bank loan would.
