The American Academy of Clinical Psychology is an organization of Professional Psychologists who have joined together to promote high quality services and advanced standards of practice, through encouraging ethical and science based practice.
The Academy was founded in 1993 in response to needs for a membership organization for psychologists who have earned Board Certification in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Clinical Psychology (ABCP), which is a member board of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).ABPP is the organization recognized by the profession of psychology as the grantor of Board Certification in specialty areas of applied psychology.

To provide a professional community that encourages communication between and among Members and Fellows of the Academy. The American Academy of Clinical Psychology will be recognized as a premier organization in Professional Psyhcology devoted to achieving excellence in evidence based clinical practice, promoting lifelong professional development and public mental health education.
Gerardo Rodriquez-Menendez, PhD, is Chair and Professor of the Clinical Psychopharmacology Program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He is also the President of the R-A Pinnacle Group, a private corporation dedicated to providing leadership development, executive coaching and business consulting.
The Academy invites members and others to donate financial resources to the Academy. These donations will be used only for the work of the Academy itself, whose primary purposes are to promote recognition of ABPP Board Certification, to encourage applications for Board Certification, and to enable members to better deliver psychological services, through education and networking.

PFA online includes a 6-hour interactive course that puts the participant in the role of a provider in a post-disaster scene. This professionally-narrated course is for individuals new to disaster response who want to learn the core goals of PFA, as well as for seasoned practitioners who want a review.
These include disorders that affect how you feel emotionally, such as the level of sadness and happiness, and they can disrupt your ability to function, loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. Examples include major depressive disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
