In the first meeting with our clients we review their wishes, priorities, budget, aesthetics and specific details. This is the customization process and we strive to listen carefully to fully understand what our client's desire. This meeting typically takes 45 to 60 minutes. Based on the initial consultation, we develop the design.
Our drafting services approach allows you to tweak your design at later stages while still maintaining the integrity of your drawings. We offer you an efficient method for integrating your home design or addition into your site as well as with your existing dwelling. What that means for you is that you are offered more control over your design because we are better able to maintain accuracy and efficiency of the documentation.
The Erosion Sediment Control Plan (ESCP) Coordinator is the person responsible for observing the erosion control components of your project and reporting back to the permit authorities as required by law. At Owner Built Design, we provide the ESCP drawings as part of our design and drafting fee. However, the role of ESCP Coordinator occurs during the construction process so we also offer our ESCP Coordination services as a month to month option.

Update: If I had to do this again I would hold back a final payment for Jim and the Engineer who needs to sign off. Once we paid for the plans, Jim was out of the picture, but really you still need him. You will need a letter from the Engineer to sign off to close the project with the City & County. Communication wasn't the greatest as emails and texts have been unanswered similar to the experiences of another yelp review.

I was so encouraged by the excellent reviews that I had my husband reach out to Jim. We even more encouraged by the quick first response time but it stopped there. Jim called my husband back right away, they exchanged information and tried to set a meeting but an up coming trip meant we had to wait a week to schedule a meeting. When we tried to reach Jim to schedule after the trip, we have tried for several weeks, both by phone and email, but have gotten no response. This is not the customer service we expected based in everyone's previous posts.

This person is more than a draftsman, he is quite professional and knowledgeable of his field and beyond. He knows how to meet his customer needs. He's lived in this island long enough to know what's the best for them, he knows all about building codes and materials that this weather requires. He is no novice, that's for sure and he is so nice. A previous house and my beautiful kitchen speak for it. His price is quite low for the kind of value he offers. I absolutely recommend him.
