Services
Thank you for you interest in Summit County's award-winning Lake Dillon Preschool and Early Learning Center. Your child and your family are members of a non-profit, parent cooperative organization that serves Summit County locals and visitors. Parental involvement is essential to the survival and success of our center.
The philosophy behind our curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. Learning isn't just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in. In their early years, children explore the world around them by using all their senses (touching, tasting, listening, smelling and looking).
First foods, laughs, steps, and friends. From 6 weeks until walking, in our Teddy Bear room, your child's confidence will increase as each new accomplishment is praised. In a loving, clean and safe environment, your baby will begin to explore the tactile senses and gross-motor skills through manipulative and responsive toys, with love and guidance from our staff.
The Bear Cub room, our pre-toddler room, is where we truly see your child's personality begin to blossom. They will be surrounded in an environment filled with learning centers, materials, creative supplies and more. Your child is learning every day about the world around them and we are here to help encourage their growth.
Our Sun Bear room, for late 1-year-olds, is full of FUN and exciting learning experiences. This is a key time for your child to learn how to express themselves. Goals for this age include separation, socialization, introduction to body parts, language development, shapes, colors, and fine- and gross-motor skills.
