The fixed bridge is a restoration which cannot be easily removed by the dentist or the patient. It restores the missing parts of your dental arch much more effectively than a removable partial denture.
Badly decayed or broken teeth often must be repaired by using a cap or crown. Dr. Reyes will recommend this procedure when filling the tooth to its proper shape becomes impossible. After a cavity has been prepared, you must have enough good sound tooth left to hold the filling materials in place. A cap or crown is a replacement of the part of the tooth which is above the gum line.
Tartar or Calculus: which sticks to the necks of teeth, is the enemy we are fighting. Calculus can cause destruction of the gums and underlying bone if allowed to remain on the teeth. As calculus grows, it extends above and below the gum line, firmly attaching itself to the tooth and irritating the gum tissue.
Tooth whitening techniques vary from at- home trays and in office laser whitening. Although the results and lasting effects are similar, the costs can vary substantially. In order to keep the color of your teeth lighter you will have to periodically whiten your teeth. Many attempts have been made to esthetically improve the shade of one's teeth.
