The Children's Garden School is a pioneering program for early childhood education serving 2.5 to 6 year olds. In 1983 the school became a qualified 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. The school is located 20 miles east of Seattle, nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in the charming community of Issaquah, Washington.
Our teaching philosophy is to provide a warm and nurturing learning environment, focusing on the personal needs of each child. A curriculum designed to encourage each child to experience the world in a very personal, hands-on fashion, through the creative use of art and natural objects. Frequent opportunities to discuss, evaluate and learn from personal experiences in a group setting.

At the Children's garden, students get to know some very special "teachers." While they do not have formal teaching degrees, our puppet friends are very helpful at reinforcing concepts, expanding language, modeling listening skills and manners, and encouraging creative thinking. They help us all remember that learning is a lot of fun and the children come to love them all.
Initially, our classes are grouped by age. The staff observes and assesses the social, emotional and cognitive development level of the children over the first few sessions. Occasionally, students will be transferred to a different class as it seems more appropriate for that individual.
When any and all transfers have taken place, the children remain members of a particular class, and that class stays together for that year and each of the succeeding years. For all three years children stay in the same classroom environment with the same teachers.
