At Powers Family Wellness we are concerned with your entire health and well being. We work to integrate your nervous system with your muscular-skeletal system. The nervous system controls and directs every function of your body. YOU have an inward wisdom known as innate intelligence or as life force, the Doctor within you.
This wisdom is the same force that took the two cells from your parents at conception and created the first system of the body known as the nervous system and over the next nine months created the magnificence of you. Your innate intelligence runs, creates and heals your body. In other words, your body is self-healing and self-regulating.

In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
This is a representation of one type of subluxation. A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."
Below are some of the foremost experts in chiropractic who have taken the time to answer some of the more common questions. Author: Dr. Christopher J. I came to Dr. Powers with a sports injury 3 years ago, he not only helped me overcome that but fixed a lot along the way. I can honestly say I am 100 percent a believer in chiropractic care and what he has to offer. His office is welcoming and safe, I never felt afraid to ask any question. Dr. Powers really is world-class

Three years ago I was in an ATV accident fracturing two disc in my lower lumbar. After recovery, things just weren't the same and I experience constant pain affecting me and my daily life. After talking to a close friend who explained my symptoms could be fixed and pain alleviated through chiropractic care I was recommended to Dr. Powers at Powers family wellness center. With his thorough examination of my issues I began treatment which put me on a journey to wellness. Within weeks the pain was alleviated and I was able to return to daily activities that I thought were over for me. Dr. Powers

I have been seeing Dr. Powers to help with realigning my body for the last couple of months. I was in an vehicle accident at the end of 2018 and have suffered pretty serious migraines since. Since starting chiropractic care again, I have noticed a significant improvement in my sleep, a huge reduction in the frequency of my migraines, and less aches and pains in general (especially in the mornings). I am a long time fan of Chiropractic care and I find Dr. Power’s and the staff to be extremely flexible, welcoming, and knowledgeable.

I would never get tired of recommending Dr. Powers! Many people has listened to me and all of them agree that his phenomenal!!! My whole family has been treated by him. First I came in 2013 cause I had this horrible pain due to pregnancy. After 15 months of delivering my baby, the pain was still there and even getting worse cause I'm the main caretaker of my teenage son with physical disabilities. The relief I felt after one week of treatment was unbelievable. I regretted not going sooner to see him!!! My back stopped hurting but I still continued coming for maintenance. The improvement was so

I am a disabled veteran with a pinched nerve and herniated disc in my upper cervical. For over five years I suffered in chronic pain and could not sleep, could not run, could not even lift up my four-year-old daughter and this injury was taking a tremendous toll on my well-being and life. I was referred to Dr. Powers who has tremendously transformed my well-being to a more manageable life. My experience with Dr. Powers and his staff has been all but the best treatment, services and customer service experience. After a few weeks of treatment I was able to actually get a full nights rest, increasing

A while ago, my dad began chiropractic at powers family wellness center after a road trip and grew fond of it, and when I started drum line, he decided to put me in chiropractic, and after like a week or 2, I was an inch taller! And doctor Powers is a great guy and it is always very comforting to go into the office knowing you will feel much better afterward! It's a great place to go for chiropractic and I highly recommend it!

This place is incredible. I have just completed my third visit and developed a treatment plan and I'm pleased. I say treatment plan because, yes, I need that much help. I have insurance to make it very affordable but I get the idea that even without insurance they'll find a way to work with you if you need the help. They're giving me advice for long-term self-care, explaining every procedure and every cost and answering any question I have.
I did spend a good chunk of time and money on some fancy 6th street office because they were so highly rated but no more. When I came to

I came to see Dr. Powers because I have hard time walking and was using walker. After few visits, I notice improvement and I don't need my walker anymore. Now, I am able to go to yoga and Ta-Chi every week. I drive one hour every week to Austin every week so I can get my powers turn on. It is so worth of the trip. Thank you Dr. Powers.

I had bad posture, and my neck was stiff with fairly limited range of motion. I started seeing Dr. Powers three times a week, and not only did my neck feel and move better, I felt a lot better as well. After a while I was able to go down to two adjustments a week, and now I'm down to one. I have more energy and can move so much more easily now. My job is physically demanding, and I am much happier at work now.

My experience was and is life changing. I was scheduled for a total knee replacement when I first saw Dr. Powers. I didn't really know what chiropractic care was, and he made no promises about my knee. In the course of getting me aligned, my neck got back to normal and my back is almost there. Dr. Powers paid attention to and treated my knee. Amazingly, he took it from the bone on bone it had been for decades to actually having space between the bones. I cancelled my surgery. It is still a bad knee, but is tolerable thanks to his treatment. The rest of me moves so much better that I really wish

I travel quite a bit for work and being in a car and plane all the time has done havoc on my body. I never expected to be going to a chiropractor in my 20s! It's also been tough trying to find a well respected excellent chiropractor with my hectic work schedule. So to start my review:
Dr. Powers is amazing.
He is genuinely kind-hearted and wants to help the community's wellness. He is a runner himself so he gives me tips on how to take care of myself. He remembers the littlest details and is always so pleasant to talk to. Every time I come in for a visit, I feel like I am visiting

As a runner for a lot of years I have to say that I have really stressed my body. I had only been to a chiropractor once before and never went back.
My left ankle had been bothering me and swelling in a soft spot, the ortho doctor couldn't figure it out, the massage therapist said it was something else. He has this laser, doesn't hurt and at first, I thought it was bogus. I have to say I ran a half marathon within 2 weeks after going to him regularly.

Dr. Powers is great! He sticks to the basics. I love that he takes a very anti-prescription and more homeopathic stance on health.
I first met Dr. Powers when I was training with Austin Fit. He's good with athletes as he's a marathon runner himself. I was so glad that I went in for my evaluation. It changed my life. In only a year he evened out my shoulders (that had a 2" difference), my hips (huge for running), and returned most of the curve to my neck. I am in much less pain and my running has become much easier. I am very impressed.
He's a nice guy. He doesn't pressure
