To understand how Birmingham Orthodontics became what it is today- a multi-doctor practice with 60 employees spread across 4 locations-you have to go back to the beginning. While serving his country in the United States Army, our founder, Dr. McCarthy, was searching for quality orthodontic treatment for his daughter.
Dr. McCarthy received his orthodontic training while serving in the military. During his ten years in the US Army, Dr. McCarthy rose to the rank of Major and served as a Green Beret. He is a board certified orthodontist with nearly two decades of experience and has been recognized as one of America's Top Dentist by the Consumer Research Council of America every year for the past decade.

I had a retainer that broke on my upper teeth. I called then to see if they could remove it. They did a free consultation, free x rays, and the wire was removed within seconds.
I was told by a dentist that I would have to pay out of pocket for x rays, an appointment, consult on what I should do, and for it to be pulled. They were so helpful, reassuring, and understanding of my situation. They were also so understanding about me bringing my 3 year old and infant.

Excellent service. Not a long waiting period. My appointment was at 8 am. I stayed until 11 am. Same day braces and x-rays. The longest part was honestly the x-rays. Staff is very friendly. Made you feel comfortable about everything. Thanks Birmingham Orthodontics for helping me get my smile together!

I'm now a part of the brace face family again! Birmingham Orthodontics was recommended by several people I know and I was wanting to get a second opinion on what another ortho doctor said concerning my teeth. So I decided to hit them up and I'm so glad I did!! From the moment I pulled up (before I even got in the door), i experienced the kindness that I've read so much about in these reviews. Then when I walked in the door, I was greeted by name by ALL of the staff members. From check in, to finance, to X-rays, to getting the actual braces on... it was such a pleasant experience

Went for a consultation right. Lol. I'm deathly afraid of any doctor that has to do with messing with my mouth so I went in on 10,000 afraid. This location came highly recommended by my gf Nikese so ehhhh let's do it. The staff was AMAZING and very FRIENDLY. They snickered at my nervousness but assured me every step of the process that it would be fine and if and when I got braces it's not painful to get them on but there will be discomfort in the following couple days afterwards and after each tightening.
