The Abbey Tavern, a San Francisco Richmond district neighborhood favorite Irish Pub and Sports bar, has been serving local Guinness drinkers some of "San Francisco's Best Pints" since 1997. The Abbey Tavern is a conversationalist's bar, where great live music can be heard, and the best hops and barley on tap in San Francisco are on offer.
Enjoy a pint in our warm and friendly bar environment or at our upstairs lounge. Play a game of pub darts, pool, or fooseball. Listen to the best artists from San Francisco's live music scene as well as touring bands. The Abbey also features DJ's and is home to one of the best and longest running Euro-Disco nights in the Bay Area.

Nice, friendly local Irish pub. Lots of great beers and ciders on tap. They're known for being the place to go for UFC fights. I was pretty disappointed, however, that they had a $20 cover for a fight that they paid next to nothing for on ESPN+. I would have bought more drinks. I would definitely go back for drinks and pub fare.

Came here Saturday morning to watch the Premier League fixtures. I was surprised to only see a handful of people viewing the games. From talking to the regulars here, it seems like they attract more of a crowd for Giants/ Warriors games as compared to soccer. The servers were nice and the beer was the standard fare of Guinness/Anchor/Sierra Nevada...
I would recommend this bar if you`re planning to head to Golden Gate Park since its close and in case Kezar gets crowded.

This was probably one of the most accommodating bars I've been to. We were in San Francisco and needed to watch the Golden Knights play off game and not only did they turn the TVs to the game, they also put the sound on. Considering this was a San Jose Sharks bar, that was absolutely amazing. Because of that, we all went back to watch another game there 2 days later. Both times we were there, every bartender was so nice to us and it kinda made us feel like we were at our own local bar. They also let us bring food in, since they don't serve food. That was a HUUUUGE PLUS!!! Thanks staff

At first glance I was a lil skeptical and since we were there to watch the UFC fights, late I must add, the place was packed!! We were able to find a spot upstairs and within moments felt completely at home. The service and atmosphere were top notch and very inviting and the prices were extremely reasonable. After the fights a live Irish band took the stage and we ended up partying the whole night there! Very Irish, very old school, very fun!! I recommend this place to any of the touristy places we experienced!!

It's a conveniently bar located at the corner of 5th and Geary. The outside boasts of SF, Irish and Neighborhood depicting art. Inside it's a 2 leveled bar with the bar immediately to the left, a DJ booth adjacent to it and plenty of dance floor. The second eleveted floor has a foosball-table soccer and pool table and a set of darts. There's only 2 stalls in the women's bathroom..not sure about the men's but I imagine the same since when it is a hit and it's packed, bathroom lines are horrid. I love how even when it's not packed they have a DJ and he's super nice and has an awesome variety of music

Came here around 11:30pm and the place looked trashed. Not sure if there was only one guy working, but the upstairs area was a mess. Glasses and trash at every table, so there wasn't really anywhere to sit upstairs.
Other than that, it's a chill bar. They had an open mic or maybe it was just some locals performing, idk, but it was pretty cool.
It was dope cause they had $7 Irish Flu Shots and if you know me, I love Jamey! A couple of those and you'll be on a great level.

Came here on NYE to celebrate. The place was a cool chill bar. Environment was friendly. The crowd we met was nice.
There was a pool table & foosball table, tv's all around. It was nice and clean.
Can't say much about the drinks or staff since I didn't order anything. Not sure about the prices either.

Abbey Tavern is a fun, small Irish Pub on Geary which has good, cheap drinks, dancing and sports. It is a fun place to watch a game although it gets crowded quickly and the TV's aren't the best. The bartenders are good and the drinks are pretty cheap. Typical pub-style bar. It gets crowded on the weekends and definitely has a college student vibe most of the time. Fun place to stop by with a group or to meet some new friends to party with.
