Call us at 540-252-3892. Looking back it has been two months since my PT started at Appalachian Physical Therapy. I had upper and lower back pain that was causing problems with my daily activities and sleep. Dr. Dave in the Strasburg office and staff have been wonderful to work with. Dr. Dave did fascial manipulation, dry needling and provided an array of exercises and stretches to strengthen my muscles and relieve pain.
Services
Appalachian Physical Therapy was first opened in Pennington Gap, Virginia in 1986 by Bill Whiteford and Colleen Murphy. It began as a small outpatient practice, with contracts serving nursing home residents and homebound patients. One year later, Bill and Colleen felt compelled to move to the Shenandoah Valley.

Neck pain can cause debilitating and extremely uncomfortable sensations, especially if the pain stretches from your neck down to your shoulders. According to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), approximately one-third of the population will experience neck pain in any given year. It can get worse if left untreated, and in severe cases, surgery may even be needed.
If you suffer from headaches, you are not alone. Approximately 80-90% of people across the U.S. endure occasional or frequent tension headaches. They are also the third most commonly reported source of pain across the world! Whether they are acute and temporary or constant and chronic (such as migraines), headaches can all be treated by physical therapy.
Shoulder pain can take many forms - it can show up when you're reaching toward the top shelf to put dishes away or when you're struggling to find a comfortable position to sleep in without feeling a sharp pain. It can show up as a result of an injury, making you feel as if your shoulder is immobile.
