Dr. LoPour is a conscious sedation certified dentist, enabling him to effectively help patients who are frightened of dental work and looking for a gentle and compassionate dentist to take care of them.
Dr. D. Greg LoPour was born in Lovington, New Mexico and attended Abilene Christian University on a basketball scholarship. He received his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995. He is passionate about serving the needs of his patients, his staff and the surrounding community. Dr. LoPour has and continues to hold various elected positions within the dental associations and societies that enhance, improve and educate within New Mexico.
Dentistry by its very nature is a team business and our office relies heavily upon a good team of individuals to deliver the best possible care and customer service to our patients. We have been serving patients for almost 20 years and we have learned that hiring for character is every bit as important as hiring for skill.

Been coming here for years- love the professionalism of the staff and knowing that I will be completely taken care of. They always are sure to explain things in detail so that I know exactly what to expect with each visit. While being very modern, the facility is a relaxing environment.

Dr. LoPour and his staff are so friendly and accommodating. I am here from Texas and experienced a chipped front tooth and needed it fixed ASAP! Dr. LoPour not only fixed my tooth but gave me a great price which included a huge discount because of my financial situation and need. I highly highly recommend Dr. LoPour and his staff. I am very weary of dentists and he was quick, painless (no anesthesia needed because of his skills) and generous. Thank you Dr. LoPour!

New to ABQ and referred here by a friend - a "wow" from the very beginning! I am in healthcare so have extremely high expectations when I go to any provider. First, the staff are genuinely kind and courteous and obviously enjoy their jobs. Second, when you meet Dr LoPour he gets to know you before doing anything. It's obvious the kindness and professionalism start with him and he sets the example for his staff. The office is spotless and they follow appropriate protocols for safety. I luckily found Dr. LoPour in my veneers research. I had expected at least six before my consultation appointment. After an eye to eye conversation about my smile goal, Dr. LoPour took a look at my teeth. Within less than a minute, he walked me through, with a mirror in my hand, what would actually be minimally necessary to achieve my cosmetic goal. And it wasn't six but actually just one veneer.

I was a licensed chair-side dental assistant and oral surgery assistant for 12 years, so I know exactly the kind of dentistry I want and need.
When I called to make an appt. I was subjected to a 20 min. interview, including all the details of my insurance. Later, they told me I had to give them my social security number because my ins. co. had no record of me. But they were calling an ins. co. I had never heard of and was not my ins. co

As I pulled into the lot for my first visit with LoPour & Associates I felt the familiar uneasiness I’d adopted from an early age due to negative experiences at the dentist over the years. I had allowed my dental health to deteriorate over a period of time as a young adult because of this anxiety and soon found myself in immediate need of dental care.
All my worries and shame associated with poor oral hygiene began to meltaway as I was warmly greeted by administrative staff and dental assistants upon entry. Dr. LoPour patiently explained

A friend recommended Dr. LoPour and I am glad I took there advice. I needed a lot of work done and every time I have gone in has been a great experience. I am greeted with a warm welcome and the team is very professional. The atmosphere is spa like, you even get a hot towel at the end of every visit. I highly recommend Dr. LoPour and his team.

I was also former patient of Dr. Montgomery's and we moved over here when he did. I realize this is a boutique place, but they're always up selling. I always have to be super clear and assertive that we're only doing what insurance covers. My daughters went in without me last time and the front desk didn't check insurance status before giving service. This seems to be routine with all of my other healthcare providers. It turned out our new insurance was not in network. So not only do they get to pass on the bill to me, but they were very rude and condescending about it and

Dr. Johnny Montgomery retired and merged his business with Dr. Greg LoPour. What a shame! The Greg LoPour, Montgomery & Gallegos / Smiles By Design Albuquerque office is fancy with modern furniture, accent walls, "free" refreshments and TVs everywhere. I thought it was really cool until I got their outrageous bill. Even though I had very good dental insurance I had to pay a lot of extra money for a simple cleaning with x-rays. They will tell you insurance covers the charges and send you on your way, but in a week or two you'll get a bill in the mail

The business office staff here is the absolute WORST at customer service. I've been a loyal customer of one of the dentists (which I love) but unfortunately dealing with the staff in regards to billing is a complete nightmare. You will find yourself getting bills for services you did not receive. When you call Dr. Lopours office they will accuse you of not wanting to pay your bill and do little to resolve issues. Save yourself the frustration and move on.

Very impressed! I've been a dentist enough times to count on one hand so my dental health isn't spectacular. I decided to try this office based on extensive research (including Yelp reviews!). The office is beautiful, everyone was extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions.
My cleaning was fantastic, it's been 4 years since my last so I was fully-prepared to leave in pain but the hygienist was very good and kept the lecture to a minimum :)

I went to Dr. LoPour for an urgent dental event - won't torture you with the details, but he was able to see me right away and took care of what was happening right there and then. I knew it was going to be good when I spoke with the admin staff on the phone. They were so nice and made me feel like I was among friends. The office itself is easy to get to, plenty of parking. Inside it is very warm and comfortable. The assistants knew their stuff, and explain things as they go so you don't feel like things are happening to you that you have no control over. I had a great experience here. First off, the office is conveniently located near my office: you may not experience the same joy depending on where you work. And not only is it close to the work site, but they've got lots of easy parking. Win, right there. Not having to drive across town and then fight for parking in order to have them dig at your gums is a good way to start off.
